Actually California is probably in the best position of any state to go it alone. They have a great economy and the percentage of folks on the dole is actually among the lowest in the country and unlike most red states who need the big bad Federal Govt for monetary handouts to survive California is towards the bottom of that list too.

As far as the election goes everyone was wrong about it so I wouldn't be taking anyone's predictions about anything concerning it. If trump wants to waste who knows how much money to chase a problem that doesn't exist then let's make a list of other windmills to chase. Who knows maybe we might learn we have a real problem with folks spitting on the streets and we can hire a squad to shame them and fine them and we can use the money to build the wall.

A problem that doesn't exist? When the Green Party candidate was wasting time and money with a recount no one but Trump supporters complained. But in doing her recount, there were serious irregularities in Detroit. Basically, just like with Al Franken, there were more votes than people. And every further effort to recount only showed one consistent trend, more votes for Trump. Now in doing the recount, there was no audit to ensure that the votes were tied to real people that were citizens. So who knows how far off track the numbers really were. But considering how divided the population is and how close elections are likely to be, it makes sense to me to do everything possible to ensure that the vote is as accurate as it can be. And every irregularity should be investigated thoroughly. Why would anyone think that non-citizens are NOT voting? We know there are millions of them among us and we are to believe that none of them have bothered to try and vote? Insanity.

The worst of the problems were in Wayne County, Michigan’s largest county, where 66 percent of voters cast their ballots for Hillary Clinton and just 29 percent for Donald Trump.

ballotThere was such a problem, the Detroit News reported, “[O]fficials couldn’t reconcile vote totals for 610 of 1,680 precincts during a countywide canvass of vote results late last month.”

The Detroit paper continued, “Most of those are in heavily Democratic Detroit, where the number of ballots in precinct poll books did not match those of voting machine printout reports in 59 percent of precincts, 392 of 662.”

Michigan’s state law says if a precinct’s poll books don’t match its ballots, then the original election results must stand.

“It’s not good,” Detroit Elections Director Daniel Baxter told the Detroit News Tuesday, before the judge halted the recount.

Schulkin ends by saying that the tax payers are paying for the fraud and that Mayor de Blasio doesn’t care because tax payers are paying for groups of immigrants, Muslims, and lots of actual unregistered voters to vote through the rigged system where just anyone can come in and cast a ballot.

I'm interested enough in finding out the results of the voter irregularities in Detroit that I've periodically checked the Michigan Sec of State website for updates (there are none to date) and I actually called the MI Sec of State's office earlier this week asking when the audit is supposed to be completed and if any results will be posted on the website. The woman I spoke with said the audit is still ongoing but she assumed a statement would be released upon completion.

I agree in some respects that CA has a better chance than some other states to go it alone. Provided they can handle any water shortages and requirements within their own borders, they are a huge agriculture powerhouse. If they did secede though, I would think there would be an agricultural surge of supply in the remaining U.S. post-secession as I would guess a lot of Americans would rather buy produce grown in America rather than the Nation of California, but who knows. They have enough land area to take in the untold tens of millions of immigrants I've already said they would take in. That would be a given since reversing such principal would be hypocritical.

I'm glad to hear California's economy is so strong and the number of those receiving government assistance is so low. I'm not up on the health of their economy.

California Leads U.S. in Total Number of Medicaid Beneficiaries

Medi-Cal enrollment has increased by 34% since the Affordable Care Act went into effect, leading all other Medicaid programs in the country in terms of total beneficiaries, according to data from the Kaiser Family Foundation, HealthyCal reports.

    Medi-Cal is California's Medicaid program.
    Details of Increase in Enrollment

California -- one of 29 states that have expanded their Medicaid programs under the ACA -- has about 12.2 million beneficiaries. Before the ACA, Medi-Cal had an average of about 9.2 million beneficiaries.

According to the data, Medi-Cal has nearly twice as many beneficiaries as the next-closest state, New York, which has about 6.4 million residents enrolled in its Medicaid program. According to HealthyCal, California's Medicaid program also had the highest number of beneficiaries in the country before the ACA.
