Thanked: 351A buddy up north texted me that he was just out ice fishing. I asked him if he caught any.
He said yes, he caught 40 lbs and his wife nearly drowned trying to cook it!
Looks like around a balmy -4 Fahrenheit next week, sure beats the cold!
Regards

There's a silver lining (supposedly):
The weather service said on its Facebook page this morning: “Yesterday’s 6.9 inches of snowfall weighs about 3.8 lbs per square foot. A standard snow shovel is about 1.5 square feet, so every shovel full of yesterday’s snow weighs about 5.7 lbs. If your driveway is 18 feet by 20 feet and you shovel it clean this morning, you moved over a ton of snow! Congratulations, you can skip the gym today.”
We can expect another 3-6" of snow tomorrow. One helluva winter this year--Mark

Thanked: 481You know, I had the same thought when I went to visit Washington State a few years back. If I could just find a way to get 2 or 3 homes up and down the coast and travel between them seasonally, I would almost literally be in heaven.
Clearly I need to start some sort of business here in Virginia, then branch out so I have offices in Vermont and Florida.

Thanked: 292Well, I live in the Chicago suburbs. In addition to RAD and HAD, I have SAD (seasonal affective disorder). I have a really tough time in December and January when the days are so short. I just want to hibernate. Even though this is been a mild winter in Chicago without a lot of snowfall or bitterly cold days (at least not yet), I am still looking forward to warm weather.
Although we will get some warm days in April and May, I tell people that you cannot count on it being warm here until the second week of June. Then by the third week of June it is hot!

Well after a few days of Chinook and rain the road are all clear of snow and mostly just wet or even dry in places and the skies were clear with just a few clouds SOOOOOOoooooooo I took my Harley for a Ride! Rode for about an hour+ in the Mid 40's and while I loved the ride, it was nice to step into a nice warm room.
Can't wait till it really warms up and I can enjoy a long ride. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Sunny and warm (40F, so relatively) for a few days. I'll take it!
