Yes it is. One which assumes and seeks to reinforce that homosexuality is bad.
One could equally say to a child, "How sad are you that you're black?" and it would also be assumed that dark skin is undesirable.
People do it all the time. "That's so gay" or "Don't be retarded" can be heard on a daily basis. I've done it myself and am likely to make the mistake again at some point. I merely mean to suggest that we can and should do better.
