    And the state bird of Mississippi is the mosquito!

    But honestly, the worst mosquitoes are in the northern states. Riding around Wisconsin at a Harley rally in summer, you had to stop every once in a while to clean the carcasses of your windshield and any exposed parts. Best to wear leathers because leather cleans up easily.

    The mosquitoes in Alaska are so bad in the summer that the caribou sometimes become anemic.
