Good eating though. One of my favorite dishes. They're very expensive though. Probably a premium for being such a pain in the @$$ to raise.

Had a guy who lived on a lake I use to hunt waterfowl from, along with others. He had two of the vile creatures. As law goes...U cannot use live decoys. So this guy would let his geese loose to roam the lake.

I hunted a swamp farthest away from this mans property, over a mile away by water. Got to my blind one morning only to find his geese in my decoy's.....I left them on his front porch with a sign.....enjoy.!

Good riddance. I hate them when they're alive, love them on a platter.

They can be extraordinarily loyal and affectionate, can be trained and make great pets.

Also, even better guard dogs, as they are inquisitive, territorial, very sensitive to sounds and cannot be bribed with food.

I truly have considered getting one for these reasons.

You just have to show them you are not afraid.

I have watched my 4 year old brother collect eggs from the nests.
He would stand up to them and they backed away.

We gave up counting one time at 500 and it always supprised me at the people that would come into our yard and be afraid of the geese and not a dog.

I truly have considered getting one for dinner. Bastards! They may back down at times but the gander will NOT back down if the goose is near.
