Ahh, I see. I'm not so hot with a 45 for some reason. Maybe it was the gun, who knows. I just find I connect better with some guns than others.

That's one reason I could never live in Europe. It's an American thing I suppose most would say...

I have almost enough guns. I tend towards unusual handguns, like the TDE 180, but I have a few long guns as well.

currently I have 3. A 22 remington bolt action rifle that my Brother gave me for a Christmas gift when I was 14, a double barrel (side by side) 410 that belonged to my Grandfather, and a single shot 410 that my Father gave me.

Have had handguns in the past, but for one reason or another have sold them all. Those included a 357 S&W model 19 with a 6 inch barrel, a .41 Mag S&W also with a 6 inch barrel, a 380 grendle, a 9mm semi auto that I forget the name of, good gun, just not a Colt, S&W etc, Company is no longer in business.

I took my concealed carry test with a 1920-1930's colt .25 auto. Patrolman that administered the test told me I had shot my 5 fast rounds in 2 1/2 seconds. Not bad for an antique!

I'm not much of a gun-guy.....I inherited the shotgun, and the two pistols were gifts from a former employer.

Winchester Model 1894 (chambered .32 Winchester Special)

Winchester Model 67 bolt-action .22 (iron sights only)

I'm really a long-gun kinda person. I've shot several pistols, like a .380 Walther PPKs, and a .38 S&W police special, but I'm not a very good shot. I do okay at 100 yds. with the Winchesters, though.

Can you give guns as a gift in the US?
    1) how can the state make sure it is registered to your name, and
    2) how can the state prevent you from getting a gun if you have no license?
