Thanked: 3223Yup, this site has atrophied imo. Hope that changes.

This is the first and probably last shaving forum I am a member of. With all the sub forums it would seem most my AD’s are covered. The wealth of knowledge and the willingness to share it, for better or for worse, is what attracted me to this place and what keeps me coming back.
I feel we’re welcoming and supportive and obsessive. With the current way things are I can’t imagine anything except for time that will increase our membership.

The allure of straight shaving has waited too. It’s a cycle. After a cool movie came out with James Bond and a straight shave the hits were massive. But if you look at the shave related businesses that are suffering SRD one of the biggest. It was bound to drop. Not to mention a lot only stop In And all excited then after s few weeks their done.
Throw in the fact that Lynn actually fooled some members into thinking he cared about anyone besides hisself. The active members are still here. And some new ones who stayed cause they actually wanted to shave with s straight

I think part of it is just a cycle of cultural and social movement online. The various fly-fishing forums that I used to be active on and were thriving back in the day gradually died a slow death. I suspect that the entire idea of discussion forums is now almost considered something old folks do, except maybe for reddit (r/wickededge) and some others that resonate with young people in esoteric interest niches like ours. I bet the average age on here is well into the 50's. You just don't see that many young folks nowadays joining forums-they're more into Instagram, Snapchat, and whatever else is hot this week.
Even Fakebook is dying (which good riddance IMO). We all just have to do our part to keep the lights on and contribute content.
For my part, I'm always looking for young bucks to gift with a starter razor kit if they seem interested-I have yet to see one jump on here, though.

This is an excellent forum with great people that are always willing to help. Even super dynamic things have lull periods but they always come back stronger. Same here with this forum, I think.

Thanked: 61This and similar sentiments are precisely what make this play so incredible and truly unique in my mind. It speaks to a passion about the hobby itself and a genuine joy when someone else finally discovers it. This sort of thing makes me proud part of this community and inspires me even outside of it.
