Sigh. It seems that people now want to be scared of everything and anything. The news media agree and are quick to fan the flames. "The sky is Falling" they say, so stock up and stay away from crowds. Oh, by the way, stay tuned in and we will keep you afraid! Crazy times eh!

Once again it's the internet and constant barrage of 24 hour news. You can't get away from it it just keeps feeding on itself.

That it wouldn't matter, because nature always keeps things in balance. Just as with wildlife, once there is a overabundance of a particular species, disease always follows. Killing off the weak, so the strongest may survive, is natures way of keeping a healthy balance on this planet.

The reason for all new strains of viruses, reason for the corona.

Sorry if I don't candy coat things, I'm a get to the point, kind of guy. Were all going to die, just a matter of when, and how. I can except that. Its inevitable.!

Twice I've looked into the eyes of the grim reaper, and laughed in his face. For I have no fear of death, nor evil.
Life goes on, till it doesn't. Life is a journey, not a destination.

Not saying...throw caution to the wind, just enjoy life while you can. Never know what tomorrow will bring.
Well maybe we should just shut down the whole healthcare system and just let nature take its course. Have a heart attack? just die and make room for others. Encourage new diseases so we can deal with overpopulation. We can just cull out the weak and do away with them.

Like I used to say to a now deceased friend who used to love to take chances, we're all in line for the pearly gates but you don't have sneak up front.

The reality of it is that it is something to be concerned about and take the reasonable precautions advised. Don't blow it off as just another flu until you find large areas of your country locked down, as is happening in Europe as we speak, and look all confused. Panic won't help anything though.

Well think about this the experts at CDC. and WHO. Already said in the beginning, PANIC is the real problem. Just take the precautions stated and keep calm. Mass hoarding and hysteria will not fix this. Good judgement and cool heads will prevail. My wife is on the category of high at risk she has COPD, asthma, and recently had lung surgery plus she’s a young woman to me but she is 62. So yes it’s a concern and she was a nurse practitioner and knows this medical concern. But she still made her doctors appointment and we did a little shopping. Wash your hands and keep your hands out if your face after trips out around people. So panic is not helping but cool heads will. Me I just drink my bourbon. I miss work cause we were isolated out there and never got sick

The panic and the idea that we can isolate ourselves in this "modern" world that is global seems silly to me.

It is nearly impossible to totally isolate yourself. You can do things like not take public transportation, don't go to places where there will a lot of people gathered unless absolutely necessary, increase the physical distance you keep from other people when you do go out, don't shake hands or hug another person in greeting them and don't have friends or family over to your house. It is about reducing the risk of infection or at least slowing the rate of infection down to a point where an already taxed health care system stands a better chance of coping.

Common sense should prevail but total isolation almost impossible. Precautions, as one would use during the flu season, would be enough for me. What is happening now is just nutz! I can see isolating myself from this media blitz would be a great idea though! They don't just report the news anymore anyway! They hype up and sensationalize the news so people will want to watch and watch and watch to ramp up their ratings.
