Thanked: 13245Healthcare 2020
Fri 9/11/20 1:30am
So let me explain the truth of the "SCAMDemic" and how this works..
So as many of our friends know my wife Shannon is what many would call an at risk person in the Covid19 world.
What she is mostly at risk of, and what we watch for and have for almost all the 30 years we have been together, is if she gets a cold or flu it can turn to Pneumonia pretty easy with her..
The SCAM
So Tuesday Shan starts showing symptoms of a cold, by Wed we know she is sick and needs to see her Doctor.
The Cluster F begins to build quite fast now, so listen close.
Our Primary Care Provider left for greener pastures about one month ago, the person that took over her practice, we now learn on Thurs only sees people Mon-Wed.. This changes little it would have only cut out my contact with Panhandle Health
How this works in today's world !!!!
IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS !!! (Cold, Flu Bronchitis, Pneumonia etc) you MUST get a CV-19 test BEFORE you can see a doctor.. Read that again you MUST get a CV-19 test BEFORE you can see a Doctor..
Now we are fully in the circle jerk by 8:00 am Thurs, Call Primary office finally find that this is useless by 9:30 am, begin the chase of getting a CV-19 Test order from Panhandle Health District by 10:00 am.
Now we learn that in Sandpoint the test is the 48-72 hour results type. Keeping in mind that if this moves into Shan's lungs she will be in the Hospital with full blown Pneumonia really fast. We know what she needs, this isn't new for us.
We find out that in Bonner's Ferry they have the 30 min test, I start pushing hard, going into what Shan lovingly calls "Colorado Glen" mode, I start using sickeningly sweet compliments, mixed with subtle threats to finally get an order into Boundary Community Hosp. and have her up there for a test by 1:30pm..
We head over to the Doctors office right there by the Hospital where they agree to see her as soon as we can get a Negative result to the test.
Read that again, She must have a Negative result before, they will see her, Finally at 2:30 after 45 minutes of chasing down people on the phone we get the Hospital to fax the negative CV-19 results directly to the Doctor's office down the street, and boom, she is in getting the prescriptions we knew she was going to need. to hopefully get this under control over the weekend..
Now for the punchline.. The CV-19 test is $200
If we didn't learn from friends about Bonner's having the 30 min test we would have been into Mon or Tuesday before she would have seen a Doctor
If I had actually waited for all the call backs and had not called every 30 minutes bugging them, she would have not been seen yesterday, and most likely by then would be in ICU with full blown pneumonia.
Welcome to the "ScamDemic" this is what happens when the Government gets itself between you and your Doctor..
Do NOT let them push you around do not wait, push back hard against the “Medical Experts”
Follow Up
We are heading up to the new Doctors office here in a bit, I think we got ahead of this, but she is going in for a follow up now.
With the smoke from the fires down in CA OR & WA bringing our AQI in to the 344 level or Hazardous this is an added issue.. We have a smoke filter in the house running and we always have real N95 masks around anyway.."No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

Around these parts for any MD visit or using any medical facilities you don't need any covid tests. Only if you are scheduled for surgery do you need one.
I hope things work out for you.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Thanked: 13245The new Dr is trying to keep her out of the hospital, they gave her a Booster Injection to try and facilitate getting her lungs cleared out..
If she responds to that over the next few days they will call it good..
At least she sounds better than she did on Fri
Damn AQI is over 400 again the smoke is so bad they don't want her out in that even with a mask"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"

Jeez...What a mess. Here in Sonoma County, California, it's the same deal as thebigspendur describes:
no pre-testing required. At our HMO (Kaiser), they take your temperature and make sure you have a mask.
You may be tested...right there, on the spot...if they suspect Covid-19, but there's no out-of-office referrals
or additional requirements before you can see a doctor.
However, the chain of Fed-State-Local "mandates" is far too confusing and inconsistent. It sure would be
helpful if there were a single universally authorized procedure for getting care. No one should have to fight
their way thru a legal tangle to get the medical care they need.
I hope Shannon gets whatever she needs. I would not care to be anyone who gets in your way!

Thanked: 13245I believed that too, and Shan has Cadillac health care coverage for us through her job
I learned different with this, in fact the only reason I posted here is because this is the new Covid19 world rules. Even up here, where we have had near zero Covid cases
If you have symptoms, they will require a test,
I only told you all this story so that everyone understands it,, no other reason
The only difference is if you have your Primary Care on speed dial like we did until one month ago THEY can order the test for you.. It saves a bit of time but not muchLast edited by gssixgun; 09-14-2020 at 08:38 PM.
