A few years ago my son stopped to fill my diesel Toyota pickup with fuel. He was working in Oregon and they fill for you. He paid and made it to his girlfriends place when it finally died.

The ass hole had put regular gas in it. Fortunately I knew the owner and he paid the $300 plus to fix my truck.

Now back to New Years celebration. I'm fixing kind of a smorgasbord with the following:

Cream Cheese & Turkey Meat Rollups
    Cream Cheese & Ham Rollups
    Smoke Cheese Sticks
    Chicken Wings in BBQ Sauce
    Black Olives
    Green Olives
    Baby Pickles
    Pickled Cucumbers
    Saltine Crackers
    Ritz Crackers

    Sparkling Cider
    Cake Roll Up

No real partying for me and Mrs. Crescent City. We will have our traditional meal of Hopping John with hog jowl, and cabbage with neck bones. Then we will probably go to the boat and watch the fireworks from the pier or the nearby lakefront park. Obligatory toasts with pier neighbors, of course but no real "party like it's 2022". We will probably be home long before midnight, having a nice double (quadruple, in yankee shots) rye oldfashioned. Then I will snore on the couch for a while and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Taking the kids and grand parents out on NYE to go clamming for cockles. Hoping to be eating some Boston style chowder and then get into bed.

We are going to set on the couch, eat tamales and black eyed peas and watch TV. We will be in bed early as usual.

Today is my daughter's birthday so we will go to dinner at the Japanese Steakhouse (her choice for dinner) and then home to cut the cake. Probably be asleep before the ball drops. Not much of a party animal anymore. I got that way out of my system back in my younger days.
Dang it! Just remembered I forgot to pick up the black eyed peas and hog jowls. Back out to Publix I go.

I won't be participating this year so I wish the youngsters well.
Sounds like cow tipping after WAAAAY to many cold ones...

Or maybe more like bull slapping.
