Thread: What other AD's do you have?

Dunno how much this one counts, but I used to be really into Tom Clancy books, and I own every one through... The Bear and the Dragon (I think).
I suppose my most recent has been pipe tobacco; I've probably got about 10-12 different blends. I almost got a cigar AD, but I've totally stopped buying because I refuse to get a third humidor... and I can't afford more.
When I was first putting together my fileserver I had a huge hard drive AD. Then, money and limiting my total drive count became an issue, but I've still got ... actually, I don't know offhand how many of what quantity I have, but I want to say I'm just under 3 TB formatted. (2 x 250, 5 x 500, 2 x 400, and another 500 that I don't have room to install)
Before that, I had other hardwear AD's; I built and sold probably 4 computers in one semester.Last edited by holli4pirating; 11-06-2008 at 03:58 AM.

Fountain Pens (mostly Japanese - namiki/pilot, Danitrio and Platinum)
Outdoor Gear - more waterproofs than there is rain!
I suppose I collect animal sightings - it can get addictive
Whistles - this started about 10 months ago and is fast becoming a serious problem. I mean low and high whistles for Scottish traditional music.
(Obviously lots of razors and stones!!)
I must post a question (a piece of research really) to get a clear understanding of why folks like the old stuff (razors, fountain pens, wind up watches etc.) as opposed to the new ones. I am giving a talk in our local town in January which I titled 'Out with the new and in with the old - straight razors and fountain pens'. It would be good to have some of the thoughts from here on that as evidence of why people want to go with the old ways. I know my reasons but personal opinion is only part of the story as always...
cheers
Stephen

No other ADs. I'm actually surprised that I have HAD and RAD at all; I've been the furthest from a collector of anything.
Chris L"Blues fallin' down like hail." Robert Johnson
"Aw, Pretty Boy, can't you show me nuthin but surrender?" Patti Smith

Thanked: 2Wrist watches - I spend hours surfing ebay spending imaginary lottery winnings.
Fly fishing equipment.
And most recently......
.......Colognes. I started to enjoy shaving so much I added 1 EdC to the mix to keep the pleasure going throughout the day. I'm now averaging a bottle of cologne at least once a week. It's getting expensive and it's only a matter of time before wifey finds out.......

Tobacco pipes, bicycles and parts, handguns, and a few guitars. That was before the razors and hones. Now I can't afford anything else.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Stuntskate AD or Rollerblade AD.
I have 4 pairs right now, 3 of those are functional and 1 is bashed into the ground.
I'm also waiting for the release of the new Deshi Carbon skate to decide whether I "need" that one.

Thanked: 77I'm basically a techno-gadget-geek.
I used to collect (and drink) single malts. At one time the collection was up to 27 different malts. Alas, most of bottles haven't been replenished and have sat empty for years. I you don't already have it, The World Guide To WHISKY by Michael Jackson (no, not that Michael Jackson) ISBN: 0 88162 2842 is a real treasure.
Last few years I've been into my 6.1L Dodge Magnum (American Muscle!).
