Look for Lombardi's in NYC - http://www.firstpizza.com/
I used to get their pizzas while working in downtown Philly...OMG....amazing. I have yet to find anything close. The coal fired oven is even hotter than a wood fired one...super crisp, lots of flavor....mmmmmmmmm.
Damn...hungry again.

Thanks to a coworker who gave me about fifty fresh picked roma tomatoes this morning, I concocted a great from-scratch pizza tonight.
Well, except for the ham, we did not kill the pig ourselves. a little salt, pepper, basil, garlic, olive oil, and what a great tangy flavor. fresh mozzerella, hand thrown flour, it all came together well. Pineapples too, yum yum, mmmmmm

Pineapple does not belong on pizza.

Thanked: 586I am spoiled by my locality. New York City or New Haven, either is great. A place from NH opened a couple miles from me two years ago. Wood fired brick oven, cracker thin crust slightly burnt on the edge, fresh toppings, the right cheeses and delightful sauce all I've had from there were great. Their Margherita is magnificent!
There should be a law banning pineapple and avacado forever from the surface of apizza. People from California should stick to those west coast cutesy things like cioppino.
