Thread: Pizza!

And now for a complete deviation from the thought provoking discussions......

What is your favorite pizza and why?

Mine:

Thin crust, light marinara sauce, fresh basil and rosemary, fresh Mozzarella/Parmesan/Provolone, ground sausage, sliced pepperoni, sliced mortadella (it's a large diameter Italian sausage, more like a bologna)....baked in a brick or coal fired oven.

A nice salad with pepperoncini and a bottle of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo....

Pizza Oss speciaal.

There's a pizza place in Oss (where I live) that does 6 euro pizza's. They're excellent.

I've had better...but money/quantity/quality these can't be beat.

Thin crust
tomato sauce with ground beef and chopped onion.
mozarella cheese

From then on, just add on whatever toppings are available:
extra cheeses.
garlic
ansjovis
salami
bacon
meatballs
more sauce
tuna
an egg.
mushrooms

I like pizza a lot, but I am not too particular to one specific thing.
As long as the basics are there, I choose whatever topic I fancy at the time.

thin crust, no red sauce. alfredo sauce, bacon, and chicken. bbq sauce optional.

If you're lucky enough to have a Hungry Howies (nothing by me )near you, my favorite is their garlic crust with bacon and sausage.
Otherwise, any thin crust pizza with huge chunks of real sausage! Here in Milwaukee, these are the older places (eg-Maria's).

Deep dish

Thick with sauce and pepperroni edge to edge with bacon and maybe onion all under a thick thick mat of gooey cheese.

+1 for the Pizza Margharita!! However I like the tomatos blanched and pealed, and then very thinly sliced. Also good with a very light pesto base.

Sometimes, I'll order something a little different, but that is my 'old standby.'
