Interesting you should say that.
If I am not mistaken, the idea was that people would elect their electoral college, and they -in all their wisdom- would be trusted to make the right choice for their home state.
These days the electoral college is an empty, meaningless husk, relevant only by their numbers and affiliation. They might as well exist only on paper.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

In all honesty, I do not see any difference between the three candidates be offered to us. So for a change I am going to crawl out of the box that big media politics has made for me and vote more independently, after all its my job to be the informed voter/citizen and currently I am looking at Ron Paul. The big media has done what they can to ignore him and that for one makes me more comfortable with the guy. The others seem to be typical go with the flow politicians that tell you what you want to hear. Dr. Paul actually stands for something and tells you what he truly believes and promotes very viable solutions to our problems within the context of our constitution. I do not wish to start an entirely new debate, just food for thought. For more info see what he says himself on his website and find out what the media doesn't want you to know. God bless all of you. I too am looking at Ron Paul. The media has done a good job at slighting him. I think RP needs to start kicking ass when he's knocked down. People see him as weak because he doesn't get up swinging. He comes off as too mild mannered. Even though he IS the cleanest candidate for office... people are not being made aware of this by the media.
He needs to hit at the war effort in his commercials, show our wounded soldiers coming back from this BS war. Then theres the immigration issue. He needs to show illegal immigrants... not the anchor babies, but the criminals, the rapist and murderers.
This government needs a clean out, get rid of the bums and traitors. We need a man that will uphold the Constitution, a man that understands what the authors of the Constitution meant when they wrote the document. He also wants to rid us of the IRS and the Federal Reserve. This would be a very good move for us.
I urge everyone I know to take a good look at Ron Paul and his ideals. This nation needs to start taking care of itself and nobody else. As it is, America is going down the tubes. We need to do something about that, and that ain't gonna happen with any of the other candidates the media is rubbing our noses in.
Also, Dig This:
On March 18, in Washington, D.C. three official representatives of the Obama, Clinton and McCain campaigns came before Jewish leaders and promised their candidate’s complete subservience to Israel. The three representatives that spoke were Lawrence Eagleburger for McCain, Ann Lewis for Clinton, and Daniel Kurtzer, former U.S. Ambassador to Israel, for Obama.
The Washington Post quotes Ann Lewis as saying:“The role of the President of the United States is to support the decisions that are made by the people of Israel.”Neither McCain’s nor Obama’s official representatives dared to object to this absurdly un-American statement, and they simply continued to argue to maintain that their own candidate would be the most subservient to Israel’s extreme agendas.
WHAT!!!??? Is this not TREASON!
Was I wrong in what I understood that according to the Oath of Office the role of the President of the United States is to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of his ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"?.
I don't know about you guys, but I know what I think about these three. I won't say what I think should be done about this, but I think most would agree with me.

Got in late to this party but thought I would encourage all to check out my signature line links. Remember the tremendous cost of blood and treasure that has been spent to achieve the freedoms we now enjoy - and do not rush to give them up so easily!
