Seem to be a lot of "duty" people here.. Connection between straight razors, guns, and police??
I carry a Springfield Armory 1911 Compact (aluminum officer's size frame, 4" barrel 45ACP) with laser grips, night sights, in a Milst Sparks VMII holster
Or, if i'm in light clothing a Kel-Tec P32.. better than nothing I figure.
Home defense, 870 with short barrel folding stock, magazine extension.. Or, if things get really out of hand an AR15 in .50 Beowulf.
Hunting- Browning BLR 30-06 with handloads. Longest confirmed hit ~620 yards (antelope in WY), also have a Marlin 30-30 if I ever get around to deer hunting.
Practice/plinking, I have a Browning HP in 9mm, Ruger Single Six (.22) and Beretta Stampede .45LC.. Also a Marlin 39A .22 lever action, and Stevens .22 single shot. Mosin Nagant M44... I think that's about it...

Since we're including pictures, I'll throw in part of my collection...
These are the ones I use the most, so can get to the easiest...
The rifle is a Winchester Model 70 Black Shadow in 30-06 with a Bushnell Banner scope in 6-18 x 54
The pistols from left to right: Taurus M44 (44 Magnum), Smith&Wesson 4563 TSW (45 ACP), and Walther PPKS (380 ACP).
The 44 magnum is the most fun on the range, it will easily shoot 1.5 inch groups at 50 yards, and is probably capable of better, even if I'm not. Also with the ported Barrel, much of the bite is tamed, so it can handle hot and heavy loads without the pain.
My overall favorite is the Walther. It's every bit as accurate as my larger semi automatics, it fits my hand nicely with the extended magazine, and it's comfortable to carry. (That big revolver gets heavy fast)

Thanked: 369While on this topic, I'm just curious what you all think about Smith and Wesson internal locks?? Kind of a hot topic on some of the gun forums.
I've had to deal with the issue myself lately. Interested to know others opinions.

I have several pistols with internal locks, although not a smith...
I've found the same to be true for all of them, In an emergency the key is too small, that locking mechanism for all it's good intentions will only get you killed.
Now my smith has a mechanism that renders the gun unfirable when the magazine is dropped, that is as good as any lock to temporarily disable a gun and prevent accidental firings... and in an emergency all you have to do is re-insert the clip.
Gun control is not a matter of legislation, but education... well that and nice tight groups.
