For carrying, I'm a fan of my 9mm compact. I like to play with 44 mags. Here recently I got hooked on the ar-15, too bad I can't afford one

I carry a Sig 220 .45 ACP on duty, but really prefer a Glock. For off duty, I'm partial to the steel frame Kahr K9 or K40. My favorite hunting gun is my Kimber HS .22LR. About all I do is squirrel hunt anymore. I do enjoy duck hunting, as well, and for that, nothing beats my 870. Keep your Benellis and Berettas. My 870 always works.
For just tear stuff up fun, I love my Sig 551SP .223. Makes an ass out of every AR clone I've ever shot.

Those Sigs are fine pieces of merchandise. I am like you Joe, I would prefer the Glock over the Sig though. But, IMHO, the 1911 is still the KING!

Thanked: 335Hmm, my best work at the range for the last couple of years has been done with Shiloh Sharps .45-2.4" or .45-90, firing a 530 grain Lyman Postell pushed by 86 grains of GOEX 2F Express. And spring is almost here again. I hear the range calling, "smoke, smoke, more smoke."

Always wanted to shoot one of those. Now I would be doing good to see the sights.

Joe, for that money, I'd go for the Les Baer. I've shot over 10,000 rds of lead through mine and it has never jammed!
Now the next time I shoot it, it will sure enough jam. Its all your fault Joe.

Thanked: 1I don't hunt, so I don't own any rifles or shotguns, except an old .22lr semi-auto that won't cycle.
For carry I like my XD-45 acp.
For target shooting I really like my Springfield Armory 1911 stainless steel long slide Trophy Match bullseye pistol. That thing is extremely accurate and lots of fun to shoot. But it's too big and heavy to carry.
I also have a Rossi .357 magnum revolver, and a Ruger MKII .22LR target pistol which is also very accurate and a lot of fun to shoot on the cheap.
