I put down my Gillette Track II two years ago and instantly picked up a straight razor. There is no reason why a man needs to use a DE before trying a straight razor. In my mid, I could envision the straight shave very well before trying. From what I heard of the DE and how unforgiving it can be if you don't have the exactly correct angle, I don't even want to try one.

I am living proof that for some, The straight is the way to go for wet shaving and the DE is a step in the wrong direction.

I'm glad that there is a Straight Razor Talk section here so that we can discuss these issues without being picked on or banned (can we?) by the DE users who outnumber the real men, the real straight razor shavers!

Can you beat that? Where do you think my infraction actually lies? I can't figure it. Must be that somebody's manhood feels threatened by real men I guess.

    Default Dual Memberships

I know for a fact that many of us have dual memberships Myself included...
In fact I think my membership at B&B was 3 days before this one...
I still try and post over there, especially if I think it might be a good one ie: the "Tumbler Method" but I have noticed that we are not as well received over there as we (straight shavers) once were...In fact if one of the Mods over there had not jumped in quickly I probably would have been banned for linking the tumbler thread to SRP.... I totally believe that we should still try and promote straight shaving anywhere we possibly can....

That being said I am glad we have a true home forum, right here, where the name pretty much says it all for us.... Straight Razor Place.....

Wow... I don't have much more to say than that. And I was disappointed with the RW thread by the way. Robert was called "a stone cold liar and a poor craftsman." Frankly, that crossed the line in my mind. I will continue to be a member over there (as long as this post or any of my others don't get me banned) but will take opinions and advice with a grain of salt.

It's funny, I hardly ever go to the straight section on B&B... I go to the soaps/creams/brushes/colognes sections because they are more complete there than here. If I want to know anything about straights or need straight razor advice I always come here first. I love SRP

They gave you four points? What does it take to get five points? two points? Holy moly that's obsessive. If you get 10 points do you get a gift certificate for Applebees?

And "ungentlemanly behavior" - so I take it Joel calling RW a stone cold liar and is gentlemanly? Has he been banned? And Joel's nonstop abusive emails to those that dare to disagree with him are gentlemanly? Very sillly and very sad. I noted my dissent to his antices was deleted immediately. Which is fine, I'm done there.

Glad I've found SMF and SRP [Lynn, don't ban me for mentioning SMF please, I just got started here!]

I think AACJ may have "disciplined" you before Joel saw the post just so Joel wouldn't ban you.

    I'm jealous, I didn't get any points...

And Wildtim... I think you hit on the perfect name...

A banned director giving marching orders? The high school antics have come fill circle! Maybe it would be better to form a 'banned of brothers' group
Find me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

Being a high school band director, I would not even consider such behavior at my band camps. Some folks would be doing push ups for life.! I'm still not banned over on B&B but I just might throw a can worms around so I could join the "Banned of Brother's Group". Cool name.

Not to worry Don, I won't.
