Young whippersnapper! I remember sneering at Nirvana as not as being as good as, oh Metallica. Yes I know.

My old fart moment came a few months back when entertaining our much younger next door neighbours. They were younger than I was when I left school & had no idea of well any good music or movies. Blast it, they are adults & less than half my age

Only you guys. And you are all sworn to secrecy!

Oh, I did tell my wife where I found it - she was there at the time. She just rolled her eyes and muttered something under her breath...

I've done similar things before, with glasses or keys. But never for as long, and never involving my entire workplace. It's quite embarrassing really.

    JMS (Mark)
My Wife says I was born old.
I feel that all women deserve respect and deference. There are some who disqualify themselves, such as the ones who growl: "Don't you hold the D*** door for me, you A**hole!" I am happy to accomodate them. All the rest of the women I encounter, I treat as I would treat my Mother.
I remember listening to the Beatles sing "She Loves You (yeah, yeah, yeah...") on a transistor radio that was about half the size of a brick and weighed around as much.
My Wife and I were visiting her Mother in the hospital a few yearas ago and I talked to a young Nurse for a minute. She had a unique surname and I knew some folks that had the same name. My Mother-in-law said, "Boy, do you have a problem." I asked what she meant and she said, "You see a pretty young woman and you don't talk to her, you ask if maybe you might know her parents."
I have some clothes that are older than a lot of you guys...
Mark, you done good. If the kid didn't realize it, his Mother did.

I'm 27, which isn't that old, or so I thought. But everytime I see these kids walking around with the big baseball caps on and everything trying to look like little gangsters, I just want to slap the crap out of them!

I know how you feel though. I'm 25, and I work in a grocery store with a mostly young staff. Despite my young age , I believe strongly in professionalism and courtesy. By what I see at work, however, language standards have definitely dropped.

With regards to the young people and the pants, I seem to remember Dave Berry once saying that if current trends continue, it will become the fashion to tie one's pants to the end of a rope and drag them around six feet behind you.
Thanks, that Dave Berry comment made me laugh out loud.

I enjoy his humor. Fact of the matter is that if some rap star actually did tie his pants on in the manner described, it would in point of fact become fashionable to do so.

    Damn kids!

I look back upon my halcyon days of my youth, and then realize that was 20 years ago! 20 years!

And yet I think I'm still that same guy...

Well, Last week I discovered (well, my wife did) a good radio station, playing a lot of my favorite music. You know: eighties songs, some rock music, ...
    It's a really good network.

    Only...

    it's called...

    'Radio Nostalgia'
