Sir Sidney, you are a bugger & a gentleman of the highest order! For those of you who have not guessed, Sidney met up with us outside Cardiff this afternoon. It was an absolute pleasure & a very welcome prelude to the UK meet next month.

A few months ago, three Belgian straight razor users decided to join each other at a "straight shaving night". I was one of them. The wifes were send off to the pub, while we honed razors, drank whisky, smoked cigars, sniffled each others shaving soaps and closed a great evening with perversely watching while each of us took his turn shaving.
In the mean time, what started as a bit of a joke, has developed into (more or less) a monthly habit, and other Belgian SRP-members have attended, or expressed the wish to attend in the nearby future.
Our shaving night from past Friday, started at 8pm and ended way past 3am.

Last time I was out in Santa Fe visiting my parents, I stopped off in the city in which Thebigspendur aka the Duke of Ducks lives (not sure if he wants me to use his name or the city so I won't). I had PMed him about borrowing a razor until I got back home, and he was kind enough to envite me over. So I stopped by his home, we chatted for...I don't remember, but I want to say about an hour, and he lent me a Red Imp 133, a pasted paddle strop, and gave me some Sterol. What a great guy; I'm glad to have him as a member and a moderator.

I have had the opportunity to attend the DFW meets and one in Austin. I find these meetings entertaining and informative. All the people I have met have been very pleasant and easy to talk to. Sharing the same hobby of blades, soaps, brushes and such makes it fun to attend these meetings. I have found the wide range of age among the members to be very interesting, but we all share a common passion for wet shaving.

Met a member when I bought my Tosuke from him. It was great to discuss shaving and other stuff with him. It was nice to buy the razor in a hand off for cash as well since there was no chance my wife would get the package or see the paypal charge on the credit card and start the questioning. I just carried it home in my coat pocket. All around a great meeting.

I'd like to meet more SRP members in the NYC area.
