Thanked: 22Well I joined there last year to PM a member about some troubles I was having. Made no post whatsoever and my account was deleted. No great loss as far as I'm concerned.
On a brighter note for you though, it took less than 4mins for you to learn why SRP is the #1 ranked shaving community.
Exactly, I couldn't tell you how many threads and or posts there are with people upset over unjustified or ridiculous bannings from that place.

Thanked: 335Smurf,
B&B does seem to be a rather prickly site. Many notables here, who are or have been members there, have run into troubles with the mods there. I can't understand the reason for the short fuses on matters which seem most innocuous, but also realize that there are many, many others who have a much better grasp of modern communications and all its implications. Obviously you must have implied some subtley which was inferred to have caused tsunami like waves which badgered some poor blade.
We feel for you

Thanked: 36Well I am a member of B&B and am happily still a member. They are very kind and helpful. I have received lots of helpful advise and encouragement and found the forum to be a very kind community. I couldn’t believe that kind of atmosphere could be generated online. After being a member for a short while i joined SRP and found it to be the same.
B&B seems to really want to run a tight ship and make sure everything runs well and there for want to very in control of everything. I dont think this is really a bad thing but you can run into troubles as the mishap in your case.
If they dont get back to you soon ill go in and PM some people to see if they will listen to one of there own members.
But i assure you it is a great forum, people are very kind and giving so dont write it off because of a miss communication.

Running a tight ship and rigorously enforcing the rules is something you'd expect of the military, not a group of hobbyist enthusiasts who participate in an open forum.
If I had to do that, I'd be banning people every day, because every day there is someone who posts something in the heat of the discussion that he shouldn't, and every day there is a newbie who makes a mistake, and every day there is a misunderstanding which is caused by the fact that we communicate only in text.
Instead, I start with the assumption that forgot in the heat of the discussion that you can't post certain things, and that newbies will make initial mistakes, and that misunderstandings happen.
And on that assumption I will try to work things out so that nobody loses.
95% of the time, things will work out after a couple PMs and everything is cool again.
Only if that approach fails am I going to consider handing out a ban. And even then, usually it is only 3 days to give people some time to cool off before coming back. Only in the rarest cases will I issue a permanent ban.
Because ultimately, we are all here for the same reason: shaving. So there is no point in running this like a military operation, because it simply isn't.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
To spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the Last Day

I personally have never felt the need to post in any other forum but this one (not that I post all that much). I find the atmosphere here to be friendly and helpfull, and the members here are second to none IMHO.

Smurf, sorry to hear of your troubles at B&B, I'm also a member over there and very seldom even post or visit. The two sites I do visit on a regular basis are this one, it's A1 numero uno as far as I'm concerned, and The Shave Den. Shave my face is good also, but I rarely visit. As long as you've found the best, why mess with the rest?

Meh. I'm a member over at B&B, and much more "active" there. I find both there and here are very good forums, with no complaints.

Just an Update, still banned.... I guess there's no point in hoping they'll see my message and realize it was just a misunderstanding. Owell, no big loss IMHO...
Thanks again everyone for your insights into my problem!
Very Respectfully,
Scott
