Congratulations on the job, Metalhead; it might not be your dream job but it's a start, and I know the feeling when it's a struggle to find work.

Just a thought, but would you consider the offshore drilling industry? It's not for everyone, and it can take time to get the first job, but once you've got that first hitch in then you've got a real chance for good promotions and pay, all based on hard work. I'm inked and pierced (nothing too visible though) but some of the guys I work with have more ink than skin and if they died they could be sold for scrap metal value!

That's just how I've found the industry over here in Europe, of course your side of the pond may differ.
