Congrats on the job. One suggestion that I'm surprised didn't get mentioned as a career choice is barber or even beauty college. I think they are fairly lenient, and you could always open your own shop.

Good idea tony! He might have to wait awhile to save up the dough for school, but the independence it would provide would be great!

Good idea Tony!
You could open up an alternative barber's. Piercings & ink welcome if not necessary. Just leave your attitude at the door & come in & have a great shave.
I know exactly what you mean, Metalhead. My work history is very chequered. It does make finding a decent interesting job more difficult. I would have suggested trying some voluntary work as a way in. It seems to impress employers no end if you are prepared to do something without obvious reward. Cannot think why.

Cool, I got tired of the street and went into the Army for 4 years. I took care of 60 American soldiers and 200 Iraqi, and was their combat medic on missions. A lot of the cold cures and stitching too. I never tried offshore, and I've had my fill of leaving my family, so I doubt it's in my future.
Also, congrats on the job. Now you can feel a little better about things while you look for your true calling.
