Believe it or not, Starbucks is a good employer. One of the Paramedics I work withs wife is a manager at one. She said they start out around ten an hour, an promote from within. They like to hire people who are a little different in appearances too. You could look into construction. Be an electrician or plumbers helper for awhile, then get your own license. Long as you can do the job, they don't care what you look like. Be willing to work hard, and you'll do alright.

The starbucks around here start you out at $6 or $7 an hour, but they do hire some cool people.

Construction work is usually pretty lenient on appearances, as is any kind of maintenance.

I had a buddy that started a lawn service and did so well during the summer that he didn't have to work over the winter, but he lives a pretty bare bones lifestyle.

Two years ago the U.S. Marine Corps placed a regulation banning tattoos. I would think the Army, Navy and Air Force are pretty similar. During my latest hospitization, the girlfriend of my roomate was complaining that Starbucks changed their mind about the tattoos she had on her hands and fired her.

In the world in which I live, having tattoos on your face places you in the ranks of the unemployable. Certainly you can work in some jobs where more radical appearance is acceptable such as selling funky clothes or CD's. Some bars and nightclubs that cater to the goth crowd. There's always the night watchman security type gigs. And like Herman Melville's Queequeg from Moby Dick, you can always pursue a rewarding career in whaling.

It sucks, but removal is always an option

in my case i hate to say removal is not an option. i love having my ink and steel in my skin, just like having a stone and a piece of steel in my hand
