I wondering if this is even a movie that found its way over to the states?

    Ok, some clues.
It is a movie in the states I am sure.
It is part of a trilogy and although the second part of the trilogy is much more popular, this is my favourite part.
    It is Korean
I did have many other hints in but I checked with google and you should get it from the above.

Wait- I saw Oldboy which was awesome, but don't remember it as being part of a trilogy... This is in fact Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance as Google Images confirms but what's the story with this movie? I haven't checked but I'm guessing it's tied into Oldboy somehow... NickyS care to confirm and elaborate? My interest is piqued lol.

I’d say that yellow spot in the second frame is where they took his kidney, which definitely makes this a scene from Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance.

I had heard old boy was part of trilogy but I haven’t seen the first or third installments.

While we're waiting for nick to tell us how the other movies are,I'll post the next one-

Sorry I was not here to reply. You know the time difference means I go to bed just as stuff gets interesting here!
It is 'Sympathy for Mr Vengeance' Whilst it is advertised as a trilogy, the films themselves don't follow on from each other, just the theme of vengeance.
I don't know why Oldboy was more popular - I much prefer this film - If you ever get the chance to see it, it is well worth it.
Lady vengeance is a film I have only seen once. again not linked in story but theme it is quite a nice movie, although not as good as the other two.
The second picture is indeed after he had his kidney stolen(although I am not sure about the anatomical correctness of the scar? I though kidneys were higher up and further back?)
Unfortunately the cover picture kind of gives away the climax of the film.

This is definately in my top 5 movies, and gets my first place for an asian movie.
