Even in that broad interpretation of victory, we still have 4,000+ dead troops, casualties of a war based on falsehoods and totally unrelated to 9/11. The deeper irony is that Bush, Sr., Cheny, and Rumsfeld were buddies of Hussein prior to the first Gulf War. It seems that Bush, Jr went in to "finish what daddy had started" or else he was not strong enough to resist Cheney's pressure to go in.
The Prosecution of George W. Bush for Murder
For Bush to establish a Presidential Commission condeming the Intelligence Community (which, as a former member, I feel has needed overhauling for years, regardless, when he was told prior to launching the attacks that there were no WMDs, is a nice way to cover his tracks. Al Queda hated Hussein as well, as he was "secular" (well, he would go to a Mosque for a photo op). Almost immediately after 9/11 we knew the Taliban in Afghanistan was involved...so we attacked Iraq....?

And regardless, for Palin to attribute any victory to McCain by saying "he knows how to win a war" simply becasue she says voted to support funding is ludicrous, unless she also says everyone who voted for the bills that funded the activities in Iraq also know how to win a war....and McCain didn't even vote for the bill that he accuses Obama of opposing...he was absent from the Senate. he just encouraged Bush to veto it....hardly the same thing.
FactCheck.org: The Truth on Troop Support?
I love Factcheck - it shows both side are so full of s#&t, it's a miracle they don't have plants growing on their heads - all that high-quality manure!
I still hold to my maxim: If you have just met a politician, check to see that you still have your wallet.
