I tasted root beer once when I was in Frisco....EEEEEEEEEEEEWWW! Tasted like mouthwash, don't know what brand it was but eeeeewww.

correct me if im wrong but isnt most rootbeer naturally caffeine free? i like that about it so i can drink it at night before i go to bed and it wont keep me up all night.

I'm a barqs guy. but what about Birch Beer?

I prefer a really strong ginger beer myself. I've mostly given up on everything but green tea, water and the occasional juice though.

My Amish friends make their own rootbeer and sell it roadside by the glass or jug. Theirs is just rootbeer extract, water and yeast. Quite a bit different than the carbonated water variants. The yeast creates the carbonation but it needs to be refrigerated after a day or two. Pretty short shelf life due to the yeast and my wife laughs when I call it "belly ache beer". Haven't you heard not to call it "Frisco"?
