Hey! I paid a lot of money for that seat in the Senate! Dang it!
Since the evidence against him has all been derived through electronic surveillance, I think you guys should all push for the immediate dismissal of all charges.

The problem with all this is? Let's see, Obama did not talk to the Govenor, from the state that he came from, about the replacement of the seat that he vacated? His first reaction is to, what?, lie. I would have not had any problem with him saying "Of course I have talked to the govenor about my replacement", that would be expected and normal in that situation. Just because the govenor tries to extort something from Obama does not mean that Obama is guilty of anything.......Oh but he lied! That screws everything up! His credibility took a hit folks! Already, and he has yet to be sworn in! Not a good thing.
Take Care,
Richard

Actually Sicboater, the source is from one of his own staff, Mr Axelrod, who on a local fox network in Illinois, said to a reporter on Nov. 23 I believe, "Of course he has talked to the governor they talked over a list of possible replacements"! I am paraphrasing as I don't remember the exact words used, but I heard it with my own ears!

Thanks dad! I found this from the 23rd as you said:
YouTube - obama's Chicago- I Never Talked To Blagojevich About Senate Seat
At 1:20 in that clip, Axelrod says the following:I know he's talked to the governor, and there are a whole range of names, many of which have surfaced, and I think he has a fondness for a lot of them.
- Axelrod on FOX
Yesterday, (Dec. 9), Axelrod took it back:
I was mistaken when I told an interviewer last month that the President-elect has spoken directly to Governor Blagojevich about the Senate vacancy. They did not then or at any time discuss the subject.
I had no contact with the governor or his office and so I was not aware of what was happeningLast edited by hoglahoo; 12-10-2008 at 03:54 PM.

I find it perfectly believable that he did not talk to the governor about his seat. First that would be getting into specifics and he seems to avoid talking about specifics like the plague. Second he might not have heard him after all this is the guy who sat in a pew for 20 years and didn't notice his pastor was a raving lunatic.

That whirring sound you hear is the furious backpedaling of the Obama administration! Coming soon to a White house near you!

At 1:20 in that clip, Axelrod says the following:
Of course, Axelrod may have not known what he was talking about (even though he said "I know Obama has..."), but if so I think he was just taking the common sense approach that surely Obama had spoken to the governor about it
Yesterday, (Dec. 9), Axelrod took it back:
Interesting. Guess what else happened yesterday? Obama said this:
Should I take the blue pill or the red pill?
My point is we don't hold people accountable for "common sense" reasons. I agree that it is much more likely seeming that he had a conversation if not three with Blagojevich about the topic, but I wouldn't nail him to the cross for my own musings any more than I would shoot a murder suspect before trial. I will however keep digging until I find something with teeth. As for the back pedaling, it is as Hoglahoo writes: blue pill or red pill? They're both poison.
