Thanked: 131I think there's a subtle difference between supporting the troops and supporting the reasons for going to war.
I completely disagree with my ex-PM's reasons for taking the UK to Iraq. I think he was fundamentally misguided. However, once the troops were there I would support the work they do there. Anyone willing to put their life on the line to defend what the believe in demands respect.
Anyone willing to manipulate that politically should be taken out of office!

..."But your flag decal won't get you

They're already over crowded
with your dirty little war,
and Jesus don't like killin'
no matter what the reason for,
And your flag decal won't get you
into heaven anymore."

Thanked: 586M1ke,
How's that? You just said you were a lifer in the active military. I didn't know any branch of the U.S. Armed forces has ever had a lay off when things get slow. I know that advancement becomes tougher based on "billet concentration and requirements" but why do you say that war is your job security? Now if you were a civilian working for a defence contractor I could see your point.
So what branch are you in?
