Bingo.
Bingo.
If someone cannot be responsible for THEMSELF enough to make that decision soundly, then they probably shouldn't be going to get a tattoo in the first place! If they do anyway... who are we to stop them from paying whatever price. At the same time, any tattoo artist can make whatever rules he wants in the same way, regardless of their reasoning.

Thanked: 416speaking of tattoos anyone here good with design. I lost my dog and best friend in 2003 to cancer and want to put a simple tattoo on my chest over my heart of a dog foot print with" in loving memory" above it and "Nick 1991 - 2003" in fancy script but am having trouble designing it so if anyone wants to help design it I really appreciate it.

Doc- do you know the artist you want to use? If so, the best thing to do would most likely be go to him with your idea. You really don't 'pay' for the design, just the tattoo time and if you choose an artist whose art you love and you are confident in his abilities you should be pleased with how he would design it. It is also easier for him to draw out his design specifically for placement on your body area depending on where that is. Good luck!

Thanked: 416Yeah I know Alex this ain't my first Rodeo got tats up and down both arms, but I am still looking for the artist and this is a special piece so kinda want to have something when I go in and we can work from there. It really will be a simple piece the main problems will be the script and getting the banners spaced properly.

Thanked: 278You know, sometimes on a hot, sunny day I'd quite like to go without clothes. But turning up to work stark naked might raise some eybrows, that's if I even got there without being arrested.
You can choose to do whatever you like, but there ARE consequences, both good and bad. When you have a tattoo the consequences are long-term, so it isn't such a bad idea to consider how people will react before committing yourself. Just my opinion.

The reason that Jimmy Shadow will not do those types of tats is a matter of personal pride/ethics. If people want those tats they will go somewhere to get it done. Just because you are a tattoo artist does not mean that you do what ever your client wants you to do. You have to look out for your best interest and the interest of the client and sometimes that means not accepting work or talking someone out of doing something stupid.

As a Jew with tattoos, it's a topic I've given quite a bit of thought. Leviticus 19:28 is unclear as to whether it is all marks on the body that are outlawed, or those that either refer to or show loyalty to a diety other than God. The Jewish cemetey line is untrue, as a good friend owns a large jewish cemetery, and burioes tattoed people regularly.
My mother still isn't thrilled, but I've gotten over that in the past 20 years or so!

As long as I can remember there was only one tattoo that I ever wanted and that was snoopy on top of his dog house pretending it was a sopwith camel doing battle with the red baron. never did and probably never will get a tattoo.http://www.gamerevolution.com/images...py_sopwith.jpg
