I also assume you mean that you would 'just as soon' stand upright and I feel compelled to remind you that we are not the only bipedal animal. All birds walk upright as well and many of them gather in large social groups as well. In fact, for the Emperor Penguin, not to do so would mean death as the harshness of their environment would consume them very quickly.

Then I read comments like yours that socialism is misunderstood.

It pains me to no end that you caught me misspelling, Im usually such a snob when it comes to that. My reference to standing upright meant "on my own two feet". Have fun with your penguins and the other lesser creatures.

Don't ya just love the voice of Paul Frees?

Reminds me of the old Jay Ward cartoons.

In fact, Frees was the voice of Boris Badenov, that lying, dirty, shrewd, godless, murderous, determined enemy of moose and squirrel (Rocky & Bullwinkle of course!)

It is true that some forms of socialism advocate full state ownership and planned economy especially communism. But social democracy for example does not follow this, it is rather the mixed economy. That is why it is oversimplified.
Btw the article you are referring to..well it took me 2 seconds to see how biased it is.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could find, and then present, for me, and anyone else interested, a non-biased article. It would be interesting to read.
