I wore my handle bar the whole time that we had the 100ish degree weather here in PDX. No issues what so ever.

As I mentioned in another thread I am growing again. I'm reaching toward a modest handlebar and will almost certainly remove the goatee by the time spring officially arrives, but if the stache holds together and looks good I might keep it through the summer. It doesn't get too hot here and I might be able to atnd the change. It seems to take so long to get a reasonable length that it would be a shame to lose it and have to start all over again next winter which seems to be my pattern. Of course, if I can't manage or don' look good with a handlebar it'll just go and whenever I do grow it back I'll stick to the chevron, but why not give it the college try. I'm missing my razors and the feel of a good clean shave on my chin. :( My wife likes me with facial hair though :) and I tend to get more respect from strangers when I wear a beard. Weird, but I guess it gives me some status. :shrug My friend and sometime employer told me that I looked Edwardian.

The thing that troubles me about your statement, singlewedge is that Oregon Wild smells like honey. i know these products are almost all made with bees wax, but here's another quirk of mine, I detest honey. Even the smell of it has made me gag on occasions. I usually tell people I'm allergic to the stuff so they understand the full impact of how distasteful I find it. I don't mind it in baklava or other baked goods so it might not trouble me, but I would loathe to have bought a tin only to discover it's repulsive. How strong a honey scent does it have?

re. Pinaud's Clubman Mustache Wax:
It has minor hold, dissolves in water and I can't seem to make it work for me at all. It just clumps and globs and then doesn't work. Some of that must be my lack of experience and bad technique, but there's no excuse for not having enough balls to do the job.

What's the point of the wax? Is that only for longer/Fuller moustaches, or what?

This thread makes my laugh. I never and I mean never shaved my upper lip till about 6 months ago. I am 45(No old comments) What a struggle it was it was like I was learning to shave again. Went through razor burn cuts etc. Felt like a kid with your Dads razor.

Since you live in the general Oregon area send me your address & I'll send you a travel tube, same size as a chapstick tube if you don't like it no big loss, if your in PDX let me know where to meet you some Sat & save me 0.44c postage:) As for the honey scent. Not that noticeable to me but everybody's sniffers are different so it might stand out more to you.
Firehouse: It works good but I just preferred the OWH personally (since you don't like honey I guess I won't offer you any mead then:))
Pinaud: First off there is no actual wax in that product, if there was it wouldnt disolve in water. Not to mention ot really has no holding power, which I need for my otherwise unruly 'stache.

SALAZCH- The wax is for grooming. Generally a mustache wont curl up into a slick looking handlebar on it's own so you put the wax in and curl, fluff, etc to get whatever the desired look is that you want. Un waxed my stache is kind of bushy but with the wax it slicks together and I get the tight(somewhat) curls I prefer in my handlebar.

I am using wax a little less now since I been able to blow dry with style gel.
If I want more of pointed tips that's when I use the wax.
