That's called a Hollywoodian these days.
Hm, lots of interesting names. I like to use pop culture references, hence Robert the Bruce. Above, you can see my Guy Fawkes and my "NASCAR." I have also done the "Lemmy" (Motorhead reference), the "Amish" and... I don't remember...
I am currently growing a moustache and I want it to look something like Robert Donat in "The 39 Steps" from 1934..A great movie btw!

Ain't he handsome?! The only troubble is how I should do this, the shape I mean. If anyone of you have some tips I'd be most grateful.:bow
That's easy, just shave away all the parts that don't look like what you want.
Be careful of getting too close to the remaining hairs with the edge or you'll half clip some of them which is annoying.
Once you're close, stop and start shaving away from the mustache.
That means a 'Fool's Pass' is your friend. Nice and gentle all the way.
I've done this pencil 'stache many times, in a chevron shape or the French style, and it's quite simple.
My 3/8 Heljestrand sure comes in handy sometimes.
The Mustache isn't quite together yet since I just stopped trimming it a month ago, but in another month when it has evened out a little more the beard will almost certainly be gone. It's getting too warm here at the 'Spring Olympics' to justify keeping it much longer so I thought I'd provide you with this image before that happens. I dare say at almost two months without a trim this is the longest my beard has ever been or will likely ever be. Every millimetre as long as it got when I was in the Yukon. It's getting' unruly. This time with more grey. :D
Sadly, this is pretty much the extent of a beard I can even grow, but I was thinking more ...

You guys don't know the difference between a chin puff and a goatee.
Right?
Disgraceful.
Right now I have the standard Chevron.
I use to vary it throughout the year depending on my fancy.
Combinations and variations of The Walrus The Zappa The Fu Manchu The Horseshoe, and for a number of years I would completely shave it off once a year for myself, then after a while I would want it back. :)
Also had the Van Dyke for quite a while years ago.
