I don't think anyone is to blame for the outbreak of the illness. But the uncalled for hysteria? I blame the media - 'cause we now have too many news outlets competing for our attention - and I blame the WHO and to some extent the government. I blame the government for not calming things down. In the wake of Katrina, they wanted to appear on top of things (people seem to think the government is capable of miracles for some reason).

i absolutely respect your opinion (as usual ) and will say that i do believe good genes do have something to do with it. but i simply can't stress enough how important it is to give your body the best chance it can have to fight a disease or virus or any illness before you come in contact with it. the only way we can do this is to monitor what we put into our body, not overwhelm it with crap food and toxins among other things.
again gssixgun, i do see your point and don't really disagree totally, but at the same time i can't except that genes are the most important factor for so many people that are constantly abusing their bodies.
thats not to say that i have never gotten sick or will never get sick, but i will never be someone who believes that i am supposed to get a cold every year, and that i have no control over whether i get the flu or not. people where i live are lazy and take too many drugs that they don't need (and i agree that there are many drugs out there that people do need), instead of eating right and exercising.which contrary to popular beliefs now-a-days is very easy to do.

Good point. Many I'm sure would call me ill informed, but I stopped watching the television news and reading the newspaper years ago. At this point we don't even have a TV that gets any reception in our house and we pulled the plug on cable TV as well. It's beautiful. Truly.
