Nice posts! Hurling is definitely head-crackingly mad, and wife carrying... well, that's a skill we all lost from caveman days and maybe we should start reclaiming it (like we do with straight shaving).

What follows isn't exactly a sport per se, but it maybe gives us a glimpse into the culture of Rugby, particularly Aussie rugby players.

A couple of real humdingers this week! This next vid is a little long but the action starts at 2.30 -- these guys are nuts. More nuts even than our own LX, I reckon.

And I get vertigo just from watching this guy climb up the ladder. Check out what happened to the taping he put around his knees at the end!

    Excellent finds!

Those skateboard guys are really, and I mean, really nuts! No room for any error.

    They look sharp though!

Aside from needing a shave, that is....

This is the best thread ever!

This is a sport that I used to compete in at a professional level (which is a loose term in the sport), but I used to go to races, freestyle events and video shots. I am in this video a few times. Sorry there is no sound, youtube yanked the track. Watching this video makes me miss it...as you can image this sport weeds you out around the age of 25, my body couldn't take it anymore (I'm only 29). Pain and agony...but good times!

I've seen mountain boarding and it looks awesome. If there'd be mountains here I'd be all over it.

    Good on you man.

    Default Chess Boxing

I heard of this recently and thought it just had to have a place in this thread. Chess Boxing is a combination of the games of chess and boxing. It's not particularly death defying, but what sort of crazy person would think of combining two hugely different sports?

Oi! I knew you english were just crackers about your cheese, but I didn't think you'd be so bonkers! Just kidding. Probably the only reason we aren't doing the same is that we don't have very steep hills or cheap cheese .

Here's the video for the wife carrying thingy. There is also one sound advice there... See if you can spot it

Also, in Finland we have this thing called swamp soccer (though I did see similar clip from scotland too)
