    Default Crazy assed sports

I love the way people can come up with bizarre practices in the name of sports. From darts to cricket, snooker to gaellic football -- crazy. What are your favourite bizarre sports? I'll start off.

First, something so completely unintelligent and neanderthal it made me laugh my nuts off. Tie two guys together and make them slug it out. Genius!

And a personal favourite: Kabaddi. Take a deep breath, hold hands together, start chanting "Kabaddi, kabaddi, kabaddi" over and over without drawing breath while trying to evade a catcher, split from the group, chase, slap, chase, more slapping, and then a good old wrestle to round it off. I don't understand it, but I am entertained.

Looking forward to seeing some alternative sports, please post your favourite!

Some of my favorite stuff is MTB Trials stuff- it's crazy when you realize how difficult it all is... wish I could do some of this:

How's about the Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling in Gloucestershire, UK, a couple of miles from me. It's on again in a couple of weeks so you still have time to enter...

I've stood at the top of the hill and felt dizzy! People have been badly injured in the crowd by flying cheese in the past and someone was struck by lightning a few years ago too!

Can't figure out how to embed Youtube as others have done, sorry. Ha, looks like it's automatic!

Watch the whole thing and be amazed. Wish I was forty years younger.

Alex and Jimmy (and anyone else who liked those youtube vids), you guys would probably love this movie http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rad_(film) ... if you can find it.

It was probably my favorite movie as a kid.

    Here's the trailer:

The commentary on Kobayashi vs. the bear had me in stitches. That goes into my fav box. And the Norway base jumping is incredible -- love those flying suits. I saw a vid where one guy in a suit ends up flying into a tree and broke his leg. Guess it was going to happen flying that close to the edge.

One more from me: a clip from Junior Kickstart. Sorry, it's a terrible quality vidcap, but good comedy value. This poor 10-year-old kid comes off his bike from about 7 feet up and gets it right in the nuts (commentator says 'thigh', I guess that's what you call a euphemism). So this poor kid is trying to locate his nads in agony, and tow old duffers from St John's Ambulance (a charity health organisation in the UK that attend events amongst other things) come steaming in to help the poor lad... well, worth a quick watch. Listen for the guy in the background wetting himself with laughter.

This is one that got my attention from a recent Jim Carey movie, and I found out it was real! Its a bit long, and a lot crazy. Think inline skates, but all over...
