Because it could be too late too quick to tell the difference between a law-abiding gun carrier and a bank robber. This is my thought as to why they don't want guns in banks.

    Sounds complete to me.
Maybe too complete. The next time you go visit cousin Festus in State Prison carry your piece with you and tell that to them.

To late to quick for what?? What are you going to do anyway being unarmed yourself even if there was a robber in the bank. There are probally a lot of people around you carrying guns that you dont even know about , why is the bank any different. If you disarm the good people who are carrying guns legally then only criminals will have guns. Like I mentioned earlier our guns are carried concealed , you wouldnt even know if someone in the supermarket, the jewelry store, the gas station, or the convience store was carrying. I still dont understand your logic. Or are you just stuck in the mindset that Bank + Gun = Bad ?

I am saying that I can understand why people are not so keen on guns in banks. "Too late too quick" means that it could be impossible to tell whether someone's intentions were good or not so much good before it got really ugly.

Elliette I could understand if I walked into the bank with a .45 stuffed in my wasteband totally exposed for everyone to see, but I think a majority of states require to be concealed. My girlfriend doesnt even know when Im carrying and vice/versa. We both have our views on this and Im not trying to give you a hard time I just want to try and understand why some dont want the gun in the bank but are ok with it everywhere else.

To be clear - I am just saying here is a reason some people might not be too keen on it. *I* have no problem with non-trouble-makers having guns.

    I carry into the bank

would I draw it in there?

    HELL NO
not unless I was next to get a robbers gun pointed at me, and maybe not even then.

"OMG GW ! you carry a gun in the bank?
    What if they catch you??"

    IT'S CONCEALED !!!!!!!
WHY CAN'T PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT CONCEALED MEANS HIDDEN?
    NO ONE KNOWS!
    NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!!!
NOT EVEN IF THE BANK IS BEING ROBBED!!!

" but GW, are you saying you wouldn't use your gun to stop the robbery?"

    HELL NO
    NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOO!!!!!

"so why do you carry it into the bank?"

    simple
    super simple

people do get robbed in bank parking lots

    "NO?"

    yes
    yes they do
    GOOGLE IT BABY !

    and THANK ME !

thank me for pointing out the obvious
I'm coming out of the bank and that means there is a good/very good chance I have money
ESPECIALLY IF I HAVE A MONEY BAG

I don't want to carry a gun INTO the bank
    nope, never

    BUT
I do want to carry my gun OUT OF THE BANK along with my money

Banks aren't on the gun free zones list in MI is that federal?

I've always carried anywhere I go on everyday errends and never thought twice about it.

I wouldn't draw in a bank either though unless ther was only one very stupid robber who was likely to hurt people rather than get caught after he exited the bank on schedule. But if it were a gang on stupid robbers I would sit tight and pray.

Smart robbers wouldn't cause a serious risk to my, or anyone elses health so there would be no need to draw.

Of course I go into banks only slightly more often than I actually enter a post office, another senseless gun free zone.
