I heard this story on Roger Hedgec0cks show before he went national. Rather disgusting display of contempt and misuse of the power "we the people" put into our governments hands.
EDIT: someone really needs to tweak the profanity filters.

I don't know, Tim.
I wonder if there would have been any trouble if they had instead been worshiping a fight on tv or a grill in the backyard?

That is a prime example of totalitarianism IMO and the county officials responsible for the travesty will be soundly defeated in court I think ..... I hope. Reminiscent of the famous quote;
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

I live in San Diego County. My first residence in San Diego was on Florida and University. Right across the street is an adult book store. "F Street Book Store" is the name. They have a lot for parking and it holds about 6 cars. Parking was a nightmare on Florida St. Especially Friday and Saturday nights all due to the book store. Many people called to complain about the problem and not once did I ever see officials come out to talk to the people who lived on that street or the book store. I lived there 13 years.

Is it just a few county officials that "overreacted", is it our democracy that is slowly decaying? The fish always stinks from the head downwards... and it takes quite a bit of effort to get a fresh one.
