Now I think you can understand my point, on the one hand we should mind our Own business and leave other countries to their own fates, but if Iran gets nuclear capability, then we step in? Sounds like we are the police again. Did you mean that the UN should step in?

IMO should be the UN who should try to avoid Iran to get nuclear weapons...
If they do its the UN not US of A who should decide what to do...
If the US invade Iran over nuclear weapons, it will look really bad...why haven't invade North Korea yet? No oil?
that's what the world would say...

Thanked: 90Iran having a nuke is a non-issue. Think about it. Iran has a nuke. Who will they use it on? What would be the consequences? Iran came into the game too late. They need a hell of a lot more than a couple of nuclear warheads. What they need is an ally with an arsenal the size of Russia, or China to allow them to use a warhead on someone with no nuclear weapons, otherwise, the US will nuke them.
Look at North Korea. They continue to be in a state of war with their neighbor to the south. The war has never officially ended, but is in a cease fire. They have detonated at least one nuke, and are in a position to drop one on South Korea at any time. Have they done so? No! And why not? Because they know what the consequences would be, as does Iran.
If you ask me, Iran doesn't really want a nuke, what they want is to keep the western powers nervous. It turns out that this was all Saddam wanted as well. It's a lot cheaper to pretend that you're developing a nuclear weapon than it is to actually develop one, and the end result is the same, your neighbors fear you.

I wasn't commenting about whether or not to intervene in Iran, I was using what Pio said to illustrate my point... On one hand we are supposed to keep our noses out of the business of other nations, but then he said we should invade if Iran pursues nuclear capabilities. So who decides when team america comes out to save the day, and when we mind our business?
Again, as an American, I feel like we are expected to be the police, and condemned for it at the same time.
