Thread: Conservatism, liberalism, and other "isms"

Hey guys, I've been reading (and commenting on) a lot of the political threads lately. For the most part (in fact in every post I can think of recently) everyone has been polite and thoughtful. Sometimes people have been quite passionate, and sometimes really funny, but in a good way IMHO.

Anyway, there are many of us here with really strong, and sometimes opposing opinions, and I wanted to just say that I think it's cool that people
are passionate about their beliefs. I happen to be a conservative, and pretty far on that side if the spectrum, but some of my best friends here and many of my friends outside of SRP are polar opposites politically.

I guess the purpose of this post is to help keep perspective, and to say that I value and try to understand conflicting points of view. It can be really hard to interpret tone in online communications, and I just wanted people to know where I'm coming from. I don't care which "ism" you agree with, I'd still love to sit and share some Bbq with any of you, while we chase the perfect shave.

all but the people who have give others negative reputation for not agreeing with them!

I don't think anyone means to come off as angry, or act a fool, but passion can be hard to differentiate from anger in text. And maybe I'm overlooking some things, don't know, but I mean what I say in this post.

+1... It's one thing to have quite opposing and passionate points of view. It's quite another to disrespect someone else because they may not share the same thoughts and beliefs.
