I would like to mention Mr Slant as well.

Although I have the impression that this thread is not really taking off, so I expect that the minor characters will forever be just a footnote in discworld lore.

I can't believe I only find this thread now... oh boy! More Pratchett and Discworld Fans.. Hurrah, I am NOT alone..

I like most characters, but my all-time favourite(s) is Igor! As well as a certain "Wizzzard"

    Cheers

    Jeff

Igors are allowed, but wizzzardsare disqualified for this thread, on acount of being a main character in multiple books.

I guess I need to see what these books are all about...maybe my library will have them.

If it doesn't it'd be pretty sad as Mr. Pratchett has more than 30 books in the Discworld series out and they're among the most popular SF/Fantasy books across the world.

Do yourself a favor and read at least ONE. You'll love it. I know of no person so far that has read anything by him and didn't like it.

    Thumbs up

I just want to say thanks for this whole thread.

While my reading list is always quite long, I had gotten to a point where I wasn't very excited about anything in my list.

I'd heard of diskworld many times over, but it had somehow avoided my reading list.

After seeing this thread, and not understanding how luggage could be a character, I started reading the first discworld novel on Thursday.

The rest of my reading list can wait. This is fantastic stuff, and I'll be plowing straight through all 32 in short order.

As far as a vote, being only half way through the first novel, I've got to vote for the luggage, although I'm sure that will change.

You'd be surprised at how bad my library system is. By the way things seem to be here, everyone simply buys the books they want to read rather than check them out at the library.

The Luggage! How could I forget about that one?? Of course the luggage is another of my favorite characters. And I do think it has character. It sulks, it defends, it broods, and so on. Besides trampling. So there we go, my vote goes to Igor and to the Luggage.
