Thanked: 0Now...
it's now come out that they met in jail both were there for kidknapping... I live in Canada where the death penalty isn't legal ANYWHERE you know how frustrating it is to realize that people like Paul Bernardo are being kept alive in prison because of my tax dollars... (for those of you who don't know who paul bernardo is a quick google search will reveal he raped and murdered two young women video taped it *He has also been accused of being the ravine rapist*I'm not sure if he was convicted in this or not)

Incredible. That the neighbors never NOTICED? That the police were called but never CHECKED?
Sickening. Truly sickening.

It is sad. I LIVE IN ANTIOCH!!!
The fact that these "people" lived near me make me sick. This is not a bad town, and I would like to think that "that could never happen in my town", but I guess that is not the case.
I'm glad I don't have kids ... society seems so sick these days.

It does make all people who love and feel for others sick, but just the other day I witnessed a car accident down here in Naples Fl. Within seconds guys were jumping out of there cars to help out. We can't let recycled media brain wash our good thoughts away. More and more I find myself not watching any news at it is so dummied down you really don't know what to believe anyway.

it's a bit hypocritical to say just kill them! you can't say "we can't be bothered paying for prisoners, so lets just kill them" thats so inhumane, and is just dropping to their level. sad fact is that most people do want them killed, but it is definitely unacceptable.

Sorry if you felt that was off topic.
One of the biggest mysteries already mentioned was how could it go on for so long. Antioch said it was a good neighborhood for the most part. What was the dynamics of that neighborhood that allowed it to persist without question? I am not nosey and allow personal freedom to all within some basic rules, but if that was next to your house who could let it go on? What did they see? From arial views, it not like the neighbors were out of earshot.

Thanked: 234You make the mistake, sir, of making those two statements of mine mutually inclusive.
The death penalty, as I have said before, is an easy way out. Until people stop hanging them selves inside to get away from the misery of their lives, I will oppose the death penalty.
It is not about death being too harsh, quite the contrary. Unfortunately, people still seem to think death is a punishment. I'm not convinced those who have died are aware of the fact, seems to be to be one big get out of jail free card.Last edited by gregs656; 09-01-2009 at 12:24 AM.
