Thanked: 150Constitutionality of Obamacare
I know that we some lawyers, aspiring lawyers, and very intelligent persons here on this forum. So, I pose the questions to you:
Is the National Health Care System (Obamacare) Constitutional?
How does the Federal Government have the jurisdiction to try and impose a national health care system? What provision of the Constitution grants them this authority?Last edited by Bruno; 09-17-2009 at 04:43 PM. Reason: Request by OP

Hadn't thought of that before Let's do away with social security, medicare, school lunch programs, pell grants, SSI or any social program designed to make life better and maybe easier for it's citizens.
Lets just devote all of the govs resources to the altar where it worships, the military industrial complex. I think people who would call it 'Obamacare' would worship there too ?
We can go back to the Darwinian, survival of the fittest, society of rugged individualists and let the devil take the hindmost. Those against NHS would probably like that.Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Thanked: 13245This is one time I agree with Jimmy on a political thread
We have trampled all over the Constitution so much in the past 80 years that one more muddy boot print ain't gonna make any difference...
Trying to argue constitutionality is pretty much a joke any more...
Now if yer serious about this part count me in...
Let's do away with social security, medicare, school lunch programs, pell grants, SSI ...
However I would like to add welfare, school taxes, WIC, hmmm basically anything that does not benefit everybody equally we should do away with...
If I can't have it why should anyone else??? seriously think about what I just said, why should there be ANY government run or funded programs that are not available to everybody??????
I am pretty tired of being singled out for being a Married White Hetero Male no Kids, upper middle income bracket, home owning, citizen that is not entitled to a damn thing except my tax bill...
Seriously here, I don't get a thing except The military, Fire protection, and Police protection and the Highways dept... and if you saw where I lived the last three are spotty...
Why do I get NO tax breaks???? I don't use the public anything.... until somebody can explain that, anything that means I give more away I will say NO to....
