Whups - didn't read the dimensions of it in your original post. Yeah, that's quite small, actually. I was imagining it being used for Tuna, you're right.

I'd say go for it - even the blank might be worth that. That could even be used as a blank to create a design chopper for you.
However, could it be an old microtome or something?

From the shape, it looks like a head shaver the Buddhist monks used.
