Which is why the term climate change is better than global warming.
Yes, the overall global trend will be an increase in temperature, but this will have varying affects around the globe, one of which is some parts will have colder, harsher winters.
People who have no understanding like to say, "Oh look at the record snowfall, global warming is so fake!" and not realize that the harsher winter is one of the predicted effects of climate change.

My remarks were completely 'tongue in cheek' .
However, there are many that are predicting an arid hot climate for the South of England, with the advice to plant grape vines.

Last winter was surely coldest for years and currently we have cold as in Russian hell. However those who think this is a proof against climate change haven't maybe lived long enough.
I would say that last 20-25 years winters have been enormously warm. Last winter was the first real winter for years. When i was a kid, winters were much more colder, like winters should be.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Thanked: 3795I won't bother, because some people who are dead set in their opinions refuse to grasp the concept of the temperature extremes that have long been predicted to be a component of global warming.

Stick a thermometer in a glacier and conclude that the world is freezing.
Stick a thermometer in a volcano and conclude that the world is boiling.
Does anyone have the brains to stop looking at isolated cases (e.g. Wales and Sweden) and look at GLOBAL AVERAGES?
Oh wait, it's already been done? Silly me!

This discussion is about climate, not weather. If you want to scour the internet for weather articles, feel free to start a separate thread. Did you even read the post right before yours which pretty much explained this?
BBC published this article just a few days ago:
BBC News - 2010 sets new temperature records
...up until the end of October, 2010 was the warmest year in the instrumental record going back to 1850
