Thread: GLOBAL WARMING/CLIMATE CHANGE TRUE/FALSE

The vast majority of climate scientists agree that global warming is real and caused by us. I don't think any of us laymen are going to come up with arguments to best their expertise.

Hi,

I think there is a point that most people miss when discussing a topic like this. The earth is not a static environment. It will change and continue to change. It may not change in our favor. After all it does not think it reacts to all of the influences on it.

Additional, the climate change most people are experiencing locally, I believe is more of a calendar shift as well. Us humans like to label things like seasons and months. We all expect warm summers because the calendar says July is warm in mid-west america. However, the seasons are shifting as to when they begin.

Just for giggles, look up projections for solar cycle 24 and 25. It could very well be that we are preparing for the wrong climate change....

Here's what I found: Nexus 6: The worst climate science paper ever of all time anywhere

To determine a temperature baseline for predicting response to solar cycles 24 and 25 (we’re currently in 23), Archibald takes a startling approach. Instead of using world-wide temperature data, only data from the US mainland is used. Additionally, Archibald decided that only data from rural meteorological stations should be used to avoid the urban heat island effect. Fair enough, you may say. But the catch is, he chose just 5 stations out of the hundreds and hundreds available! Not only did he only choose 5, all 5 were within several hundred miles of each other in South Eastern USA!

The possibility of these stations being representative of anything other than the small local region they covered is non-existent.

Climate change, ala Al Gore, is more a policital phenomenon than a physical one.

Climate models are only as good as the assumptions built in to them, the mathematics used and the amount of data crunched. Ergo, one who provides models can make them generate any results the recipient wants to hear. Since we know where the funding for these "models" comes from and what they want for answers, it is no secret what the results are. The sad part is otherwise intellegent people will lower themselves to this level.
