I got this in an email. Do any of you believe there is any truth to this:YouTube - Is Obama Poised to Cede US Sovereignty?
I call bull but, nothing would surprise me today.
This sort of idea has been swimming around in my head since I was old enough to vote. It seems that every President since after Reagan has brought us closer to this possibility.
If it is true Obama will be known as the President that killed that beautiful idea known as The United States of America but it seems he is just the last in a long line of people who will be responsible including you and I.
Treaties signed by The President are not binding. The president has no more authority to ratify a treaty than I do. Congress must ratify all treaties.
Do you you remember the SALT treaties? They were useless too because congress never ratified them. That was the justification for both sides violating these treaties.
My older brother and father both know people in the CIA and they [CIA] have advised us to stock-up. My brother's friends sold all they property, got out of the US dollar and moved to Buenos Aires.
I don't know what is coming, but it never hurts to be prepared.
I was curious about the guy's references to the document, so I followed the links in the "more info" section of the Youtube page and looked at the document. Granted, I only gave it a quick look, but I don't see anything about the creation of a new, international government which will rule the world. I searched the document for "government" and read the sections everywhere the word appeared.
Maybe I'm missing something. Has anyone else read the document and found the same implications the speaker has?
The document is here: (by the way, the url makes me a little suspicuous, but I've not looked around their webpage, so I'm assuming it's legit + grain of salt for the moment)
http://www.globalclimatescam.com/doc...hagen-2009.pdf
If you look at the video on Youtube here:
(I tried to post the url but it keeps just inserting the video. click on the video while it's playing and it'll take you to the actual website)
and click more info, it cites sections of the text that the speaker is referring to.
Holli4pirating,
Do you really think that they would use the term "world government" in the document?? Search for COP instead, for its authorities and powers over participating parties.
The man specifically said "world government" was used in the document. The document linked from "climatechangescam" is obviously heavily (and poorly) edited, so that I won't read it...bias is bias, and this site seems to be a bit heavy handed.
One out and out lie was that "You can't get out"...
From the full text of the convention,
I don't have time to go through the whole thing right now, but I call BS.Quote:
ARTICLE 25:
WITHDRAWAL 1. At any time after three years from the date on which the Convention has entered into force for a Party, that Party may withdraw from the Convention by giving written notification to the Depositary.
2. Any such withdrawal shall take effect upon expiry of one year from the date of receipt by the Depositary of the notification of withdrawal, or on such later date as may be specified in the notification of withdrawal.
3. Any Party that withdraws from the Convention shall be considered as also having withdrawn from any protocol to which it is a Party.
Its too late its already happened. Its just waiting until the new owners come to claim this country. better lock and load boys.
If you want a real glance at what is happening, try looking at the ACTA treaty. Basically US IP law forced down in everybody's throat, with trade sanctions and more if they don't join followed by trade sanctions if they don't comply, followed by trade sanctions and more if they even think about leaving. Once in place, say goodbye to generics or the safety or your data when you travel. Customs officers are given the right to make a copy of all data transiting through borders and must destroy on the spot anything that is suspected of being counterfeit. Are you traveling with an iPod? Do you have proof of ownership for all songs carried on it with you all the time?
The funny thing is that you can't find a lot of information on ACTA even tho they have been working on the treaty for more than 5 years.
Mark, you've gotta be kidding, or you're so politically biased you can't even think right.
Here, I've got another story for you, actually it's a full length movie Capitalism: A Love Story
Actually all you folks busting on Mark for wearing his tinfoil hat looking out the windows for the Black stealth choppers, better look again...
I have been hearing more and more about this now, and this guy was on Laura Ingram this morning.... this is looking more and more true....
I kept saying this stuff would never happen in my lifetime, but perhaps I was wrong, thanks to the Liberal Left or more aptly named the New American Communist Party we are going faster and faster in this direction...
And those of you that were the old Democrats, and you middle of the roaders that voted for Obama only have yourselves to blame, for not realizing that he is that far to the left...
Remembert a few things and look back on one brilliant man.
#1. The Constitution says that Congress shall not delegat any of its powers
#2. The Federal Reserve Bank is not part of the governement. (look at point number one)
#3. Berneke stated in a public speech in the early 2000's (before his ascendancy to Chairman) that the Fed was the reason for all the financial troubles in the US to include the Great Depression.
#4. Thomas Jefferson said in 1802:
'I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties
than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to
control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation,
the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive
the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the
continent their fathers conquered.'
They can do whatever they want. The majority of Americans polled do not want the Obamacare, but they are going to do it anyway. They [polititions] are elists--on both sides--and they will do whatever they want.
Nooooo. That doesn't sound like tin foil hat talk. Uh uhh. A lot of people are off their meds in this country lately. Is irrational paranoia contagious? Is there a vaccine for the H1-IP1 virus going around.
Maybe irrational paranoia was weaponized in some CIA black op in cahoots with the boys in Copenhagen and then seeded in the clouds by black helicopters to make people buy up ammunition and think Obama is the anti-christ?
I can't keep up anymore. Is it being against Obama marriage and gays are going to take everybody's guns away, or is it the other way around? Wait those theories are a week old anyway. We're on to bigger and more sinister conspiracies now.
Seriously the same people who don't think the governments in Europe and the US are smart enough to dole out healthcare, also think those same governments are so clever as to enslave us a'la 1984.
This guy in the video is just spouting off more B.S. to stoke the flames of people who get off on these nutty thought processes. Somehow he is the only person in the world who managed to figure out what Obama and the LIBERALS of the word are REALLY going to do.
It's a man with a prophet fantasy appealing to those with an Armageddon fantasy. Nothing more.
Edit: I was trying to use sarcasm to make a point. It also might read like I'm attacking gssixgun personally, which wasn't my goal. So I want to make it clear I don't agree with that thinking, but I also don't know everything either.
As the saying goes "Those that are ignorant to history are doomed to repeat it"....
Ya know why even bother, You believe in that Utopian society that the government will give you and I'll believe in what I want ...
These conversations have gotten old anyway nowadays there are just to many of them....
Being a History Major I'm well aware of history in a great way. As for your statistic, 48% of the American People think Obama is the anti christ plotting a course to a new world order. I have to question your source. Now if you are interpreting a poll to your liking, then that makes sense.
It most certainly can happen here, Reagan and Bush and their thugs proved how close we can come to that mentality. I'm just not so sure which side of the argument the nut jobs hoarding ammunition and burying guns and looking for black helicopters is on. The guy in the video seems to have an inside knowledge that no one else seems to possess and that combined with the outrageous claims he is making tends to make me call B.S.
Why is a rational look at the facts and summations to the contrary mean everyone is looking at some Utopian, bleary eyed society? Why is the thought process so polar? Can no one think beyond two dimensional thought processes? Either it's I'm supposed to believe we are about to be branded and sold like cattle or I'm living in some dream world like the Matrix. You ever hear of here and there and the places located in between?
And by the way I re-read my reply to your post and I apologize for the tone. I didn't mean for it sound so condescending. I was trying to use sarcasm to make a point, but I think it might read more like I am demeaning your for your point of view. Which I am not. I think paranoia is running amok, but with that said, sometimes the sky is falling.
I think the thing that scares me that most, honestly, is that there are people like you that actually think that some way this is all a good thing for the country...That truly scares me more than anything that the Government could ever do....
I mean seriously when do you think the bill will come due??? I mean I don't have kids, so I really don't care what the country is like in 50 years... I won't be around to see it, so maybe I should be all about "Gimme gimme gimme" where is my handout ??? $829 BILLION for health care woohoo baby you betcha gimme mine.... Global warming you betcha, hey who cares if the science shows otherwise, let's pay those poor countries off for our carbon footprint...
Let's have that big olé slice of American guilt and put some cheese on top please...
ps: I also need to make sure nothing I say is ever taken as a personal attack we are after just having a discussion ... and a rousing one at that...:)
Well that is assuming what the gentleman in the video says is true. I know he has a pleasant British accent, but he offers no other back up than just he thinks so.
It's people like you who scare me because you can always find the money to invade nations for no apparent reason and thump your chest in pride. Yet anything other expense is taken seriously. You also assume I am for this health care bill.
I am not. But it's just odd how your side wants to worry about money NOW. If we send young men to die for shady excuses and no good reason, then it's all fine and well. However, if someone wants to somehow cook up a plan to help the sick, whoa nelly. We gotta go kill some more foreigners, we need the money for that. Borrow money to help folks and not kill foreigners? That's just crazy talk. How has that made us any safer? A lot of brave people are putting it on the line daily for little gain in the end. That's what scares me.
This type of paranoia does, historically have a somewhat self-fulfilling prophecy of sorts. Until some liberal minded folks step in and put a halt to it with reason. If they don't, then it leads to chaos.
I'm an old Republican who voted Obama, and it's my humble opinion that the new Republican party is more scary than any alternatives.
Under Bush, we had the September 11th attacks, the Katrina cleanup debacle, a massive financial collapse, an invasion not authorized by Congress, and the creation of a torture camp in Cuba.
Now I'll admit that I'm not fully caught up on everything Obama has done while in office, but as far as I know his major flaws are that he; called a cop "stupid", won a Nobel Peace Prize, failed to get Chicago the Olympics, and has pushed for national health care coverage.
I'm happy with my vote thus far. And as far as the thread's question; I call BS. Actually, anytime you pose a political question and it starts with "I got this in an email...", it's probably going to be BS. :)
Oh no! The Earth is coming to an end .... AGAIN!
Thanks to Bill Clinton for playing pattie-cakes for 8 years with terrorists - we got 9/11.
Thanks to the incompitent state and city government in New Orleans, not to mention that it was the hugest wealfare/social program financial rat hole to throw money down, for the Katrina mess.
Thanks again to ol' Slick Willie Clinton and his crew spending years shoving sub-prime mortgages down the banks' throats leading to their inevitable collapse.
Congress did approve the invasion.
And Club Gitmo was a virtual freakin' resort for terrorists.
:)
Oh ya, and we just got out of 6 of the most prosperous years that this country has ever had including nation wide record low unemployment.
That hope and change is really working out great!
Some black preacher on a news interview said that Obama was misunderstood, he said that he was going to bring 'Rope and Chains'.
:)
Who was President at the time?
I was referring to FEMA, which is a federal agency.
lol? When did Clinton leave office?
Well you got one right. I misspoke by not using the phrase 'declaration of war.'
I'm not even going to bother with this one. Everything good that happened was because of Bush. Everything bad was because of Clinton. Of course that same logic doesn't apply now, does it?
"Thanks to Bill Clinton for playing pattie-cakes for 8 years with terrorists - we got 9/11."
Thanks to Ronald Reagan for supplying Iraq and Iran with weapons and technology we have to face down today. Thank you Ronald Reagan for supplying fissile material and money to Korea for a nuclear reactor.
"Thanks again to ol' Slick Willie Clinton and his crew spending years shoving sub-prime mortgages down the banks' throats leading to their inevitable collapse."
Thank you Republican Congress who passed it into law and who profited from it. PS where does it say it was Clintons idea?
"Congress did approve the invasion."
Well that lets ole Bush off the hook for lying through his teeth doesn't it?
"Oh ya, and we just got out of 6 of the most prosperous years that this country has ever had including nation wide record low unemployment."
The result of which was a very rich 1 percent and one of the greatest economic collapses in the history of this nation. So, great job Republicans. You go boys.
Guys. Stop it!
It was a curious question of mine and if we are really going down this road it was with the full cooperation of our Government over a period that spans both Democrat and Republican administrations. You can't just outright trash our Constitution or style of government. It has to happen incrementally with the full on agreement and actions ( and inactions which is likely worse ) of both parties and the general public.
So the question remains: is this really happening? Forget the youtube link for a second and ask yourself: Are we heading down this slope? And what can we do as citizens to prevent such a move.
We are all in it together guys.
:mace:
TO THE GULAG WITH YOU JMS !!
I was just kidding. Sadly the greatest country in history has been taken control of by radical leftist Marxist, and when 5 days before the election he said that "we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America", none of us had a clue what he was really talking about, but as with all socialist and Marxist setups the poverty and misery will be spread to all.
'This' not really, something resembling it, yes but it's been happening for a long time.
The world is changing and with increased connectivity and dependence on each other nations have much less meaning than they used to hundreds of years ago.
Being a roman citizen 2000 years ago was much bigger of a deal than whether you're american, or german, or french or swedish citizen nowadays.
And I expect that that's how things will continue to develop. How you live will be more and more determined by what your own skills are and less by where you happened to be born.
I don't think it's a bad thing.
On that subject ;)
On March 11 2008, the Fed had an unannounced meeting with the Big 5 minus Bear Stearns. That meeting was discovered after the fact through an unrelated FOIA request. The topic of that meeting is undisclosed.
On the same day, after the meeting, somebody did a "naked short sell" on Bear Stearns... betting $1.7M that the stock would be worth half its then-current price within 9 days. The next morning, there was a bank run on Bear Stearns and the stock plummeted. On March 17 2008, the person doing the bet cashed out $270M on the operation. Bear Stearns was forced to sell itself to JPMorgan Chase, who had received $29bn from the Fed specifically to buy the investment bank.
6 months later, virtually the same scenario happened with Lehman Brothers. This is considered the start of the subprime/finance meltdown.
To date, the SEC hasn't been able to identify the man even after several requests from the Senate Banking Committee. The same SEC that has been known to send auditors abroad for a $2000 irregularity.
I understand that you'd like to keep these on-topic, but what do you honestly expect to happen when you start these political threads? We're going to talk about politics.
My opinion is that to think that Obama is going to sign away our sovereignty is tin-foil hattish. Even if we did live in a bizarro world where this happened, there would be a revolution of epic proportions.
If Obama signs anything, it will probably just be an agreement to meet again. The "treaty" is still a messy draft right now at best. Signing a treaty does not make it binding (see the Kyoto Protocol) until it's approved by a supermajority. Obama's administration has publicly said that it won't sign an agreement unacceptable to Congress.
Oh yeah, and no treaty can override the provisions of the U.S. Constitution.
Absolute garbage. I'll make a deal with you guys: if we lose sovereignty under the Obama administration, I will give you all of my razors and peripherals. If we're still a sovereign nation at the end of his presidency, then you give me all of your razors and peripherals. :)
I haven't read over most of the thread, so someone may have already pointed out the illogic of these ideas in light of things like the fact that there haven't even been measures instituted to keep the financial crisis that we're in now from happening again. Or I should say measures reinstated, it was a removal of financial regulations that caused the crisis in the first place, so I'm not too concerned about some radical redistribution of wealth in this country. I think its pretty likely that its going to be the same old thing, the rich getting richer. If you want evidence of this, look at the bailout, that's one of the most radical monetary actions I've seen, and what did it do? It made wealthy corporations wealthier.
I think the real point being glossed over here is Global Warming to begin with...
