    I would say very relevant.

PS: I agree that the administration is handling that the wrong way.
Wow, your right!! I have seen the light! Typos are unforgivable and Fox news now has no credibility.

I now trust the other liberal medial outlets like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, ... because of their unbiased news reporting. Like the complete lack of any reporting on the Van Jones issue. The complete lack of reporting on the ACORN issues by the liberal media. The fact that they completely ignore Anita Dunn's praise of Chairman Mao Tse Dong as one of her favorite philosophers.

How about the reliance upon fabricated evidence to try and cast a bad light upon George W. Bush?? (Remember Dan Rather and the forged memo???) That's good reporting right there, and not near as bad as typos. like I said typos are unforgivable!!

I guess you are in favor of the government trying to crush a medial outlet, again, so long as they have typos.

Edit: to bring this back on topic, I can't belive the Government is trying to discredit a media outlet of any type. Does Anita Dunn = Joseph Goebbels????

Edit #2: I need to amend the last sentence in my original post, because you expressed some hesitation in the Government's actions. In what way do you think the Government should be handling this situation? Are you in favor of the government trying to discredit a news organization, and you disagree with the way this Administration is going about it, or are you against such an action outright?

If by "national security" you mean "The Obama Administration" you would be correct.

how about the White House applying the same standard to Michael Moore? His work is based upon opinions, as are the talk shows from fox news (hannity, beck, ...)

    Talking

It's like that great tolerant and open-minded 'journalist' Bill Maher said - we (the American people) are just too stupid to know what is best for us and just need to be dragged by force where the superiorly intelligent government wants us to go - oh ya, and he praised and said that he wished that we had a dictatorship like China (ya, wouldn't that be great?).

TO THE GULAG WITH YOU MATT !!!!

Well none of those images really had typos. I guess you could call spelling "Joe" as "Joke" a typo, but I wouldn't buy that.

This whole thing is because Fox News is opinion journalism masquerading as news. Nobody said that the other corporate news outlets were perfect -- it's just that Fox takes it to a whole other level.

You are laughing about that?? Really? A person selcted by Obama to be one of his trusted aids and advisers is praising a man that killed 60,000,000 of his countrymen, and you laugh?

Edit: oh, and then that person has the ability to use the Administration's reputation to try and discredit the institution that brought the statement to light. Just a little self-serving, isn't it?

I was laughing at your statement. You should get a "news" show on Fox. Holy melodrama, Batman!

It could be argued that Obama referenced one of Mao's poems in his acceptance speech. McCain said Remember the words of Chairman Mao: 'It's always darkest before it's totally black.' several times during his campaign.

So what if your "ultimate source for truth" was conveniently forgetting to report on a little Republican hypocrisy? For example Amendment 2588 of HR 3326, where only 10 Republicans voted for a law deemed "unfair to the biggest campaign sponsor of the GOP". 30 Republicans seem to condone drugging and gang raping women on your tax dollar, as long as the company is on their side.

I also never said any of the other US "news agencies" were that reliable to start with. Fox is the easiest to demonstrate as there is at least one such "typo" per day in their reporting. You know, like adding all the retiree and disabled people to inflate the unemployment figures to cast a bad light on the current administration... as if the real numbers weren't bad enough.

The simplest course of action is simply to ignore the noise coming from the echo chamber and to offer more transparency. You don't fight ignorance with words, you fight it by shining a light on it.

I could respond, but this would take the thread completely off topic, and it would be like talking to the Berlin Wall.

to bring this thread back on topic, do you feel the Obama Administration should be trying to discredit a new agency that is critical of it?

IMO, all American news outlets are less than satisfactory... For a good, objective take on the news, check out The Economist
