Thread: I think I'd rather be creepy...

As far as I'm concerned "old" will always be 10 years older than I happen to be at any given time..!
But I do know what you mean about seeing young people. My sister is 19 and she's in her second year at uni at the moment and boy do all her friends seem young when I talk to them..!
I remember when I was at uni, I felt so grown up and like I knew it all. But these guys really do seem like kids. Guess that means I did as well!
Its funny how much difference a few years makes. I'm 26 now and when I talk to people in their teens they seem very young, even though they are trying hard to project this air of confidence and knowledge! Its funny, at 18 I was totally blinded by it and now I can see through it in a second.
I still dont think I'm old though! Remember, you can be old, but immaturity is forever!

Thanked: 586I look at young nubiles and I think dirty thoughts. As a man I think that's the plan. When a girl becomes a woman she is at her most ripe for procreation. That is the whole point of sexual desires. It isn't creepy, it's normal.

Thanked: 234I wonder what you will think in another 5 or 6 years time about your attitudes today.
Personally, I think every one tends to believe they understand things better as they gain experience. I wonder, though, if the teens have it right and we just fall into societies routine.

Thanked: 5Tell that to the police... but then again, I think some laws are ridiculous. Like the fact that you can legally be dating/married to someone 5 years younger than you (providing that you're 22 years old), but when you're 18, it will get you thrown in jail.
Some things I believe we should leave the government out of, relationships is one of them. Unless someone *involved* wants to sue, but hey, what do I know?
I'm 18 so I don't know anything about being "old" yet. Sorry guys.

That's what I was going to say (at 37 years old)! I knew I'd turned the corner when I broke a tooth and had to get a root canal...I thought "oh hell, this is how it's all going to go down!". That made me feel a lot older than becoming a parent (of two amazing little girls)!

Thanked: 5I can see that, but it's not mental difference we're talking about here. It's physical attraction. Besides, I know some 20 year olds that act like they're 15. It's really hard to put an age on mental capacity. Physically, 13-14 year old are ready to procreate. I'm not saying that a 30 year old should marry a 13 year old by any means, but technically they could reproduce, and it should be up to the parents to keep that from happening if they so choose. IF the parents wanted a restraining order then they could get one, but if the parents didn't care is it the governments duty to force themselves upon the situation? Do you see my point here? It's not that they're READY, but that they CAN.
It's just a complicated issue that (I believe) the US government hasn't solved correctly.
