Thanked: 586Hooper: [trying to get the fishing line secure] It may be a marlin or a stingray... but it's definitely a game fish.
[Hooper pulls as the lines snaps and he crashes his head into the wall]
Quint: [picking up the line] Gamin' fish, eh? Marlin? Stingray? Bit through this piano wire? Don't you tell me my business again! You get back on the bridge...
Hooper: Quint, that doesn't prove a damn thing!
Quint: Well it proves one thing, Mr. Hooper. It proves that you wealthy college boys don't have the education enough to admit when you're wrong.

Where's Socrates and Glaucon when we need them?
I think a man should know the requisite knowledge (mental and physical/practical) to be able to learn how to do almost any traditional art to a reasonable level within a relatively short time. Inability to do that indicates he has not learned to think clearly, to feel, and to observe - which is very unmanly, IMHO.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Thanked: 116According to my maternal great-grand-mother, whom I unfortunately never met, a man should know of nothing but should eat of everything.
I think a man should be able to fix all the simple things around the house. In the last 4 years, I have been fixing everything but the central heating in this house.

Thanked: 102Kelly's Heros
As Oddball said to Sgt. Kelly, when asked why the tanks were not running:
Hey Man! I just drive them, I don't work on them.
Catch a few rays, have a little wine and cheese.
Got to go, wife wants some things fixed around the house.

LOL I like that one. Even my wife picked up driving a 3 on the tree in a day of driving and she has never driven a manual transmission car before. she liked mine so much we went out and got her a 54 chevy.
I think a man should know that he has to either do anything that his wife requires or have the number of a guy who can.

Thanked: 234I think a man should be able to surround him self with people who he can help and can help him in return.
In short, it's not what you know, it's who you know!
