    Thumbs up December 7th, 1941

Not sure if anyone had created a thread in rememberance of Pearl Harbor Day, so I figured that I would. I had an old friend who was actually there, and of course survived, he was a welder in the U.S.Navy, Julian Gonzales he passed away a few years ago at the age of 97, a very fine man survived now by his wife Christine a very fine lady. Julian as a welder helped to repair the damaged ships. There is probably a few maybe out here on the SRP, so I just give a shout out of thanks to your service.

    Default World War II Veterans

They were indeed the"Greatest Generation". This world may not see the likes of them again.

In our politically correct world today, if Pearl were attacked the people in power would want to drag the ship's Captains into court and charge them with allowing an oil spill.

Regardless of the political climate today, Let's all honor the brave men and women of World War II.

    God bless them!!!!

thanks for the post ROD, my father in law(now deceased) was at Pearl Harbor and was a great navy man..my only living uncle was in WWII(mine sweeper crew)....we are loosing so many of our great AMERICAN heroes from that era. we owe them a debt no one could every pay back...i salute all WWII vets and would gladly shake hands with each and every one.
my service in the navy during peacetime is a joke compared to the great vets of the past....may all of those vets who served and died rest in peace and may GOD bless each and every one and their families for standing by them and waiting for them to come home.....

It seems an unfathomable shame at what our country is becoming compared to what it was. An ever growing selfish culture and society to a growing degree ever more oblivious to the reality of what those gone on before us have done to provide what we have or have had, and to see this bunch of social 'progressives' systematically dismantling what cost so many so much to attain. I wonder how history is slowly being revised ignored and distorted.

As the grandson of an immigrant whose son fought in WWII whose grandson served during Vietnam whose great grandson became a Marine during Desert Storm, I understand the lost meaning of those that go back in time to Sparta who served for the betterment of mankind.

Many will never understand: "We all gave some. Some gave all."

There are not enough word to express the feelings................

Yes it is very sad to watch and see the forgetting right before our own eyes. Though indeed inevitable as those who have gone on before them.

all should take a lesson from you and your family..immigrants who came here for "the AMERICAN dream" and proudly served this great country. who would have given their life to protect the rest of us(some i might add, very ungrateful for great men like your family)

With all due respect, what "the greatest generation" fought for has not been dismantled as you claim. They went to war against an outside aggressor who attacked this nation, and who threatened democratic/ open societies. You seem to despise much about this country, and your fellow citizens--hardly what the greatest generation went to war for.
